One:

I had to go on a four day outing to go see my hormone doctor in DC here recently (my meds didn't need to be changed or altered in any way, but she was required to see me to keep me as a patient, she said), and while I did have a lot of fun getting to see the town we used to have the apartment at for a year, the day we went into DC itself was a disaster, x.x . We got there with plenty of time before my appointment, but we had so much trouble finding a place to park that we ended up running late for it anyway... needless to say, I nearly had a nervous breakdown when my mom had to make me go into the clinic by myself while she searched for a parking space, :( . I had to try my hardest to hold back the feelings of needing to puke or to cry... My anxiety nearly killed me.

My therapist and psychiatrist say that they're proud of me for it, but I can't really see why.

I'll label it as "personal growth." The true victories here are...

1. You went out to get help towards your goals. That is applause-worthy. That was brave.

2. You made another friend. See? Your peers like you.

Because it's progress! It may not feel like it but exposure really does help in learning how to manage anxiety. Perhaps after seeing how you didn't die after this, it might make it a bit easier to go out in public more?
