Looks like Monodam the Robot is now the bullied. Hmm. Himiko simply has no energy left to defend herself. Presumably she's not the killer, and there will be some Lesson Learned To Be More Of A Person after this, similar to Maki. Bleh.

Tsumugi doesn't think Himiko is the culprit. Unclear if this is a sign of innocence, or her trying to appear innocent by not jumping on the weakling. It's fairly obvious that every room was trapped thanks to Kokichi's bleeding, so we agree, and Kiyo backs off.

This "motivate/demotivate the survivors" shit is the least fun part of the game, which is why the epilogue of 3-2 didn't do much for me. Right now we're focused on motivating Himiko, one of the least deserving of our time. Whatevs.

Anyway, no one stepped on the floorboard ahead of time, because Kiyo laid the salt circle. Does that make Kiyo Tenko's killer? Ruining his own seance? That would be so tragic. But we pick him nonetheless - the guy who insisted on putting the cloth.

Kiyo now starts asking for proof. He's amused - but the fact is, he doesn't need to be afraid... because the True Blackened isn't him. (If that's the case, and he didn't kill Angie, then he's 100% dead in 3-4).

We get a hangman's gambit to figure out what Kiyo used to guide his path. The answer: the magic circle itself? Huh? Maybe it was rigged. Keebo tries to use his camera, but Kokichi just talks right over him. I love the gag of Keebo being unable to get people's attention.

Miu apparently "didn't install the camera for this purpose." LOL. Evidently it was meant to inspect her shit, which actually is a pretty intelligent use for a robot.

This is kind of embarrassing on Kiyo's part. Dude drew every bit of attention to himself and then killed the person in the center. He clearly manipulated everything explicitly. It's a neat coverup, but since he performed it in front of everyone... bleh.

Oh cool. Split opinion time. I do like this one, lol.

We break down everyone's argument and then present the bloodstain. It's Angie's blood, of course.

I love Kokichi. He's been considering a different crime scene from the very beginning. It appears she went to the empty room for the candle's flame.

"This must be due to Atua's room! Or magic!" / "It's neither. I just picked one."

We prove that Angie was hurt twice, of course.

Oh hey, Kiyo's mask has come down and he's wearing lipstick and talking in a feminine voice in the second person. We accuse Kiyo a second time after a brief Rebuttal Showdown using the duct tape. I mean, it's kind of obvious (as Kokichi points out) - that's Kiyo's only plausible motive for killing Tenko.

Kinda funny that Miu is the most creeped out by Kiyo's multiple personalities.

The rhythm game is a pretty rough one. At least we get to Close the argument now.

Kiyo confesses... and his final dream was making 100 friends. What. Anyway, his motive was his love life. It's his sister, who's inside him. I feel like I called this. (checks) yup, post 22. "Kiyo has a sister that he's almost certainly fucking."

"I only kill girls who I think are worthy of being Sister's friends." This dude is TOTALLY nuts and it's fucking hilarious. This dude is also representative of why I can't introduce this game series to people I want to respect me, but whatever. Apparently he's already killed near a hundred dudes. "I figured I may as well kill someone else, too."

This is great. Haven't had a murder in psychotic cold blood since... I can't remember the last time this happened. Kokichi mentions people watching, and it strikes a chord within us again. Kiyo is boiled alive and then his ghost and his sister's ghosts are salted. Bizarre and hilarious. Monodam commits suicide, too, which was foreshadowed when he was being bullied earlier. Oops.

Some generic "ah we're depressed" stuff, but special attention paid to Himiko. Kokichi encourages Himiko to open up, so she starts crying. Then everyone starts. Yeah, whatevs. Down to nine now.

YESSSSS KAITO IS POISONED!!! Maybe he was just already terminally ill to begin with as his dialogue hints that he knows he was already doomed, but this is fantastic news. Though it'll almost certainly just be used for nonsense like motivation later.

Case 3 wound up being both more complex and more straightforward than it should've been. The intricacies that make it complex made it really easy to identify the killer, and unfortunately some of the cooler cinematic parts - those upside-down effigies - turned out to be very transparent contrivances that didn't even distract the characters.

It was obvious that Kiyo had the best means to commit the murder, but I guess I didn't want to believe it because I didn't understand the motive. On the other hand, the fact that his motive was "I'm a fucking lunatic" made it all the better. Taking him down wasn't exactly satisfying, but it was definitely hilarious to conceptualize that this dude plotted a murder, killed a girl to cover it up, and then said "eh, fuck it, why waste a murder plot?" And it's the one that he planned that got him caught, as there was pretty much zero evidence linking him to Angie's without implicating himself in Tenko's. It's utterly stupid, but I can excuse stupidity when it's due to insanity. We probably needed a weird-motive case like this at midway through the game.

Sadly, the cast has a high percentage of useless people now. Gonta, Kaito, Himiko, and Tsumugi are not gonna get it done - they're our dead weight types, and Himiko looks dangerously close to making endgame. Miu doesn't seem like an endgame type of character and she lacks depth, but she's fun and distinctive. Kokichi needs to survive the next case. It's hard not to love a tsundere, so Maki has that going for her. Kibo is definitely one of the more consistently entertaining guys, but if we lose any more good playmates for him in the cast.

Not going to play for around 9 days, so hopefully we can keep the topic alive 'til then.

Funny that making the killings so complicated is what implicates each murderer. Just stab someone in a room, leave the knife in the body, and walk away, and they'll never be able to figure out who did it

Right. Another reason I wasn't a huge fan of 3-2. A lot of my favorite cases either lack major complications or have killers who aren't that concerned about concealing themselves. Or, the contrivances are slightly more involved.

this was by far my biggest surprise. the actual method was far, far more intricate - far harder to deduce and far stupider to execute <_<

it's weird how we ruled out a murderer below the floor, too - after all, it's stated that you can use a candle to illuminate things underground, and that would not have been as easily visible as keebo's flashlight from the hole on the side!

Chapter 3 frustrated the hell out of me - there was so much wasted potential with the double murder. If I could rewrite DRV3 (and I wish I could) this is a change I would make - have Kiyo be Tenko's murderer, and figure that out, but then it really is someone else who killed Angie, and now you have to work together with a confirmed murderer and he doesn't even get executed. That gives purpose to Kiyo's insanity, he would be interesting to have to work with from then on because he's clearly really smart, and then it makes the scrum debate not a total waste of time, since you were literally arguing for the wrong side - it really WAS time to vote Kiyo, but, no. That should have meant that either Angie's killer was someone else (probably would have either had to be Tenko, or Angie's death was a suicide/accident, but that could have still worked just fine) and then Kiyo used the opportunity of the first murder to go insane and kill a second person without having any consequences for it. That would have been interesting as fuck and that's what I thought they were setting up.

On that note, I back-doored that segment of the trial. I wasn't even thinking of the hole in the floor, so I lied and claimed that Keebo can't actually see when he's the one using the flashlight function. The exchange it led to with Miu was some of my favorite dialogue in the entire game.

(marked under spoiler tags, in case you want to go back and see those by doing it yourself)
Shuichi: Didn't you notice the drawback of that function you added? It's so bright, Keebo can't see when it's on!

Miu: What?! There's no way a genius like me would make a rookie mistake like that!

Gonta: But you make mistakes a lot. A whole lot.

Miu: Hey, Shuichi! If you're gonna fuck me in front of everyone, at least buy me dinner first!

Then they begin questioning Keebo about it and he pleads the fifth, which turns everyone back against Shuichi instead.

Miu: I see, Shuichi. You're just trying to make a fool outta me, huh? Well, lemme put on some makeup, I wanna at least look pretty before you decide to fuck me!

And then Shuichi says "Ah, um, that's uhhh..." with such confusion in his voice and it makes me laugh every time I hear it.

DR will always have wasted potential. I definitely thought this tack would have been a cool one to take - Kiyo would have been this game's Nagito of sorts.

i think you can only comment on miu's trademark reactions so many times, and this didn't feel like one of the cleverer/funnier ones, (though it may be fair to say it's a more memorable one, given that it happened at a trial and was in response to another char being just as vulgar as she is)

"Hey there. Guess I don't have to introduce myself, huh?" That voice sounds famili-- YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS. His "this is how it is" comment blinks out - and another comment blinks out - and then one that suggests that this isn't our first "something" ... "You wanted this killing game."

There can't have been that many killing games that everyone is a survivor, right? How many "Ultimates" are there? Welp. Maybe Shuichi isn't a real Ultimate Detective anyway - after all, Kyoko already was a UD, right?

Okay, back to the game. Looks like everyone's down except Kaito and, of course, Kokichi. And Gonta is missing. And Himiko is being loud. Ugh, this was unnecessary character development.

"This world _ s __ine _ o _ic _ ne" or something? Maki says we should ignore it, which seems hilarious.

Kokichi is very appropriately excited for the new prizes. Guy's the only one who wants to advance the game! One of our three new MacGuffins is a MYSTERIOUS CARD KEY, aka the NEW MOTIVE. Kokichi is the only one who actually wants murders to happen - so he snatches the key and splits. Everyone seems really bothered by Kokichi having the card key, but if he's the only one with a motive, that actually seems like a good thing. DR logic about escaping the killing game is always pretty dicey.

"So long! Bearwell!" Now sounds so pitiful with only two voices.

Unsurprisingly, one exclamation point is on the fourth floor. Let's us this Octobrush on the Hanging Scroll. The animation is really cool to make it open.

Up the stairs we go, to the Ultimate Cosplayer Lab, wtih Tsugumi natch. We find a workshop, filming set, and a bunch of backdrops. Tsugumi also bartends for us, but "don't worry, it's all non-alcoholic, of course." It's kind of hilarious that they need to "worry" in an M-rated game. We also get a closeup of Tsugumi - Shuichi gets a little bit hot in the face, under the collar, and under the waist. As for Tsugumi herself - cosplaying alone doesn't seem fun. Gotta say - that was one of the more fun labs.

One more lab, then...

The Ultimate Detective Lab. It's Sherlock Holmes time, baby! Musix gets interesting - no wonder this was where Maki accompanied us to. Books upon books about murderers' tricks. Nice guidelines for murder. Some have illustrations, others pics, and attention is drawn to this. The chemicals shelf, on the other hand, feels way more interesting. Some poisons inflict certain slow deaths... is that what Kaito was afflicted with? Are there antidotes?

Urk, Kaito shows up. I mean, Shuichi ain't wrong - a detective doesn't prevent the murder he solves. Maki names us a possible target because of our skill. I like that we're demonstrably one of the smartest players this time, and that the cast recognizes it. Hajime was more of a willpower leader and Makoto somewhat of a loser. Kaito's got the flashlight, but we still got other places to check out.

The second (and final?) exclamation point is outside. Gonta is still interested in the "tiny bug." Maybe he'll die and we'll have to figure out what the tiny bug was? Long setup for it, though, since he's been talking about it all game. Miu is gloating about how it's quieter with Atua this, Atua that. Yeah, but I'd rather still have that than bugs. Keebo is running out of people to call robophobic. And Himiko's still looking at Tenko's lab.

Time to work on "Object With Indentation." Something weird happens with the Inventor's Lab, which almost certainly means it's the Robot lab - and hey, Shuichi deduces this too, before we we even go in. We can't actually investigate anything in here, but Miu and Keebo are both present. Keebo doesn't like this sort of ... "sci-fi technology."

We're forcibly taken to the dining hall. Kokichi's back! Couldn't figure out how to use the card key. Kokichi baits Kaito into using the light. Anyway, there was a meteor apocalypse, people rioting in the streets - standard DR background stuff. A Gofer Project apparently failed to save people. We ask ourself some of the Big Questions, but whatever, that part will never feel satisfying to me. Kokichi also agrees - we're still missing one more piece. He floats the afterlife theory that has of course crossed my mind already.

Realistically, I know I have gifts for Kaito, Himiko, and Tsumugi. So... yeah. I'll hit up Tsumugi with the sewing kit I guess.

Oh, this bedtime stories for kids is for Maki, isn't it. Let's go to her - she's up outside our lab, which makes sense. Anyway, she became a detective via a cult. It's a pretty bland conversation.

That takes us to night. It's training night. Kaito gets sick and has to go back inside, and Maki... asks us if we liked Kaede, and wonders if it's weird. Definitely got a crush on Kaito, which may mean Kaito's marked for death. Kaito returns but still doesn't train.

Bedtime.

We're headed to the dining hall, and Maki plays tsundere again. Who-does-Maki-like is more interesting than the main mystery of this game. Himiko is outside, so we hook her up with some belt. And... we accompany her. Guess this will be the equivalent of a FTE. Gonta's planning to fight Monokuma, which is very Sakura-reminiscent, especially if he dies this case.

Oh man. Kokichi is stating that he wants to win the Killing Game. He's rising on the dying list too. So now we've got Gonta, Kaito, and Kokichi as likely deaths, with Miu/Keebo in a lower tier and Maki/Himiko not really in the picture to die.

"Hah-hahaha! The only thing you should be reckless with is that tree trunk dick of yours!" Holy shit Himiko fucking caught me off guard, that was fantastic. But Miu has an invention plan - not for the moment, though.

We show at the dojo, and Gonta's here, too. His overwhelming stupid energy is intimidating, but it helps Himiko in the end I guess. It's a pretty cute pic. Himiko smiling is a nice image, though super-uncharacteristic.

FREE TIME

I guess it's gotta be Tsumugi this time. She's in... er, the library. We wind up giving her a sewing kit. Tsumugi asks about nighttime. We lie and say we do nothing (or more reasonably, we're diplomatic - I guess this dialogue is the same before Kaito invites us out.) I actually enjoy this discussion - Tsumugi doesn't like people who use cosplay as self-promotion... but it's something that causes her to be labeled an "elitist." This is definitely one of the better Tsumugi moments.

FREE TIME

I'm not a huge Himiko fan, but since we've got the equipment, I guess she's next in line. We hand over the Dreams Come True Spellbook. It's kinda funny since we've actually got the old Himiko due to never having spent time with her before. We're unable to persuade her to perform some Real Magic. Himiko had a master archmage - clear lead-in for a future talk. Might actually go with the next FTE to see what that's about!

Nighttime.

Monotaro's decline in faculties has been bizarre and honestly kind of sad to watch.

Kaito just wants to talk today... about Maki. When Kaito's smalltal is awkawrd, we ask a FTE type of question about why she's an Ultimate Childgiver. Kids liked her at the orphanage. Her backstory is not particularly interesting. Kaito praises Maki for opening up (which is still nice even if it's not exciting) and Maki jokingly attributes it to the training, and everyone has a good time. Sweet little scene.

... And suddenly... we're... in the Game Room with Kokichi? And Monokuma? Kokichi's intending to use the card key to cause some chaos, and he shows off a new, more malicious face.

Monokuma Theater is quoting Jack Sparrow!

A new day, and Gonta is... still searching for Tinybug. Goddamn this dude is boring. Kaito wants to add to the training regimen. I do like him more now when he's less gung ho.

Miu's missing! I'm excited to see what she'll bring up. Kokichi also is. This is gonna be a fun morning! Himiko wants Keebo to self-destruct, since that's what makes robots useful. LOL.

FREE TIME

Looks like we can talk to Kokichi if we want, but we lack good stuff to give him. I wonder if we can gift Miu - who's in the computer room - the working chair. This actually works, and into her lab we go. This time, her inventions are... sunglasses that beam erotic videos, plus a recording of her moans. It's to make sure we're not "plugged up." Miu promises to tell us her secret - but not this time. What do I do with all these inventions, anyway?

FREE TIME

I was interested by the archmage cliffhanger, so hitting up Himiko. We give her a broom so she can fly. She's back to looking bored. And indeed, Shuichi understands us - we push immediately for the mage question (and correct ourselves away from "magician," too). Extreme Air Magic, Extreme Space Magic, and Extreme Meat Magic. Naturally we have to ask a question: "What if a fly gets in your teleportation?" LOL. Bringing up the master again... brings down the mood. Yet another cliffhanger, though I feel we've gotten plenty out of this tack now.

Doorbell, and for once, we're expecting both Kaito and Maki. Which means it can't be them - it's Miu. Oh shit! But why is it just us? Should we collect Kaito and Tsundere-chan? We're not allowed to knock on their doors. We teleport to floor 4, and... Himiko is here. So it wasn't just us - it is everyone. Himiko's very distrustful of Miu. More Tenko stuff, yawn.

We're in. Miu commands us all to bow, but Kokichi immediately turns it back on her, and... she actually bows and WTF, the art shifts to straight-up manga style, and Miu has the most shameful look we've ever seen. Kokichi keeps negging her. Anyway, she's built the Matrix, as Tsugumi points out. (This is kinda obvious, but whatevs. Sometimes she has references I don't recognize, so I guess cultural representation pools are interesting like that.)

Opinion is split. Himiko's scared of the idea of virtual reality. Keebo wonders about consciousness and of course gets negged. Gonta actually seems to get it ("same dream, different people."). Kaito doesn't know if it's possible, but of course DR2 was all about this. Maki has an "if that's possible... never mind" moment, which means that this is triggering a flashback to when she played DR2 in the orphanage. Tsumugi notices the chairs. Kokichi is the least suspicious (naturally). And Miu... welp, Monokuma made the magic world. Not exactly a shocker!

Monotaro calling Keebo daddy, LOLLLL.

This was originally a simulator of the killing game. Miu claims she's sanitized it, though. Kokichi suggests there's a secret in it... which means this was his method. Yesss. Opinion has officially turned now.

Shuichi: Kokichi... are you planning something?
Kokichi: Ah-haha, of course not. Afte rKaito punched me, I became a changed man. So... relax and just trust me.

Bulletproof logic. Let's go.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much attention is being paid to putting the red and blue wires into the correct ports. It'll probably turn out to be nothing, but this scene was stupidly long otherwise. Which sounds typical of DR, to be fair.

Love everyone trashing the graphics. Kaito alludes to his illness but quickly covers it up. Maki appears and... immediately wants to go back. Love it. The discovery that our senses are linked is an interesting one. Miu spits out a few extra rules upon being bullied by Miu - that objects are unbreakable (including avatars)... and that all avatars have the same physical strength. Everyone notes Gonta and Himiko's strength differential. Could provide an opportunity to kill Gonta and save Kaito for Case 5.

So, there's something up with the maps, but whatever. Gonta and Kokichi run off alone, despite Gonta's claiming he would no longer obey Kokichi.

Roof first. Binoculars only go a certain distance... and Miu's playing coy about it. Also a storage shed, which is empty of stuff that could have been dangerous.

Everyone runs down, and only Keebo hesitates... nothing exists beyond one wall, and Keebo's beginning to wonder about how that aligns with the academy's walls.

Miu explains that we need to extend the bridge, and that some masochist needs to do it - aka us. And... uh, all the women seem to agree with this. There is something masochistic about the grind of DR3.

On Kokichi and Gonta showing again: "It's more convenient when we're all together, anyway!" ... Don't tell me Miu is Kiyo'ing and just luring everyone here for a murder that only she could possibly have planned. LOL.

The world starts to load. Everyone notices this. No sight or sound is visible through the wall. It's hilariously meta, but it's also going to be key. This level of detail seems like the case is going to use it? I guess?

We find another house. It's a chapel with a ton of random stuff. Kokichi manipulates Kaito onto the roof. Maki is a little upset that we're going with her and Kaito - doesn't want us cockblocking.

Ohh, never mind - looks like Maki didn't want us leaving her. So five of us are now on the mansion side. The fact that so many of us will be on one side of the save point will surely be relevant! YESSSSSS, Miu just cut off the fucking bridge! She wants to live alllll alone with Maki and Himiko and Keebo now! Even Kokichi is pissed!

We split - Kokichi alone - and we're paired with Tsumugi. We go alone into the kitchen - but nothing. This was clearly just done so Kokichi could be isolated for a bit of time to prepare the motive, right? Tsugumi also found nothing. We figure out it was Kokichi, and Tsugumi says she saw Miu... and BANGGGG.

We start running, and that's Keebo's voice - all right! But Keebo's on the other side of the bridge (and standing right there with the others), so there are obviously other secrets to this world. Maki's still upset. But we're able to rebuild the bridge since the sign fell against a rock. Meanwhile, Miu's avatar isn't moving and Kaito is missing. Maki hopes Kaito is okay, but I'm hoping he's not, for the sake of the game!

Kokichi insists on leaving last. LOL. But before we go... he says, stop being friends with Kaito, and be Kokichi's friend instead. We ditch him, alas. Kokichi makes a yandere comment, and out we go.

---

* "You don't have to pay for expensive plastic surgery anymore, Himiko!" Himiko also wanted a supermodel face. LOL.

* Miu randomly knows that Tsumugi's neck-nape is super-sensitive.

* Can you tear unbreakable toilet paper? Do avatars have to shit? Shuichi asking the real questions in some of his funniest internal monologue!

* "Kaito would be really excited about this snow." Maki got Kaito on her mind.

* Poor Miu seems really sad people don't like her world as much as she does!

This is going to be such an insanely boring case if Kokichi is the killer (especially after his "strangle" comments). My hope is that what this means is that Kokichi rigged the setup that strangled Miu and that someone accidentally triggered it (like when Nagito forced Chiaki to kill him in a previous case). And then Kokichi could be what it seemed like Kiyo had potential to be in case 3.

Kaito's trying to take Shuichi's burden, but Kokichi stops him. "Shuichi is the most reliable person in a class trial, y'know? Why would we let such an important person work together with a suspect like you?" Aww yeah.

In any case, Kaito had the most obvious means, so it's probably not him. Maki is pretty much out as a suspect. If I'm right about Kokichi rigging it so someone else was the official killer, then it's almost certainly Gonta.

Time to investigate, with Kokichi as the partner! Himiko explains her account of the story. Miu went out to search on her own, evidently. Miu's body was found after the loud noise - but we heard that sound. Kokichi points out this narrows the suspects, but this type of narrowing the suspects has worked in literally no case so far this game.

Not working with Maki this time. She's playing with the computer, and she's found a text file with the rules. The real world body... can die from shock. Uh, WHAT. Almost certainly a red herring, though. Anyway, it really sounds like Miu was planning a murder, and that right now Shuichi's lab has nothing to do with it.

Monotaro steps in (very bizarrely) to verify that the text file is real - and perhaps more importantly, he's also provided login and logout times. Nothing seems inconsistent - other than a relatively long waiat between Shuichi's logout and Kokichi's. Kaito, of course, is first in line. Monotaro is also happy to tell us exactly what Miu did - but it won't be ready for some time.

Some helmets still have their cords plugged in, others have them removed... "I'm positive that they were unplugged after logging out..." This triggers a memory about mixing cables.

Here comes Tsugumi's account. Seems pretty clear that somehow, there's a loophole that lets you see/hear from the mansion into the chapel, and/or vice versa. There's a 10-minute gap in the story, but then, the loud noise didn't happen for ten minutes. And Kaito's account: He got logged out from the roof. Kokichi's card key almost certainly caused this.

Oh, there's a small bottle. Miu might have died from poison. Yup, Kokichi points it out - it's from our lab. Kokichi knows all about it - it works instantly and causes bloodshot eyes.

Headed back into the Virtual world: Keebo, Himiko, Tsumugi, Kaito, and us. Much more discussion about red/blue and left/right.

---

* "Wow, Shuichi, did you hear that?! The robot's being sassy with me! Did you know? Robots don't need warm blood to function, so they become cold like this..."

* "A vulgar death fit for a vulgar bitch."

* Himiko loving her avatar is pretty cute.

We note the obvious - that there's a secret to the world map.

Keebo shows us the toilet paper outside, and we inform him that we don't need to shit. Very interesting - this thing could have been used as its own bridge, since it's unbreakable, right? It could also have been used to strangle Miu's avatar...

Ahhh, the river runs the other way! It's almost certain that you can wrap the world map somehow, and it may have to do with the river. This reminds me rather pleasantly of 2-4 (though the non-real-world stuff makes it feel unnecessary).

Here's Miu's body, which Himiko attests is in the same condition as before. We find a hammer immediately, which certainly lends us to think that it could have been Miu who was planning a murder. And... yup, you can log someone else using a cell phone. This was obviously Miu who did this. We also just totally fucked with Kaito aww yeah.

Ah, right. Kokichi and Miu defnitely were in cahoots last night. And the rooftop was mentioned. Keebo sharp this time. He doesn't seem to be the killer. We also see a wooden lattice that isn't from the chapel... We quickly verify that you can hide shit in your pockets, and now it's over to the mansion rooftop.

It really is funny having everyone rely on Shuichi now. The polar opposite of "dude where's my respect." Tsumugi notes a lock on the door, but it's not added to our clue, and thank god because I'm so sick of locked room mysteries.

The roof is high and slanted - it's possible that a loud thud was the avatar falling off the roof, which would have been a means of murder. Himiko for once is bummed about the lack of a locked room mystery. (Also, the toilet paper roll seems to indicate a means of getting off the roof - it's right next to the binoculars, after all.) We find something missing in the storage room, which is... well, it's obviously the mat.

Maki shows! Program analysis done! Poor Himiko doesn't wanna go inside anymore. It's always the game-haters who wind up loving 'em!

Maki is "..."ing us. Tryna give us the identity pep talk.

Out we go, and Kokichi gives us his alibi - that he was in the salon. But he couldn't reach the rooftop because it was locked, which does sound possibly legit.

The skinny:

* All weapons deleted except the hammer.
* Cell phone was original.
* Maps were added.
* Nothing else could have been used as a bridge.
* Human vs non-human objects are in the game... but Miu's avatar was non-human.
* Save point wall is Miu's addition... and it lets non-humans through.
* If Miu's avatar touched Kokichi's, Kokichi would be paralyzed.
* There was an avatar user error from login #1. So someone f'd up. I'm guessing Keebo, since he's a robot? Or Kokichi, who was aware something might happen?

DING DONG

---

* Himiko: "*sob* I'm so proud of you... You made friends with real people... not maps..." The more outspoken-ness is predictable, but the shade is unexpected and amusing!

* Himiko: "That's the kind of line that triggers a death flag." When did Himiko steal Tsumugi's role, too? Monotaro really just raises shitton of them, though, including ending with "What's that noise I hear? I'll go investigate on my own!!!"

Pre-trial, Kokichi vs Kaito for Shuichi's heart continues, and... well, Maki gives us the "remember who you are" line again. This is interesting.

Monotaro got his ass beat and he's back to normal now. LOL.

Save point time! Taking a break.

---

* Guessing the red/blue is a red herring. There's enough other stuff that easily could have explained the murder at this point.

* Don't see any bloodshot eyes from Miu... so is the bottle of poison also a red herring? It's hard t osee how you could have rigged it given all the stuff that happened inside.

* Keebo's voice might be explained by the non-human parameter? Is his avatar human?

* It can't really be Miu herself with her plan backfiring, can it? Personality-wise, I don't really see Gonta. Story-wise, doubt it's Kaito as his stomach illness hasn't been addressed properly and doesn't fit this game. Maki is also important for later, and Himiko felt endgame-ish with her POSITIVE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I also don't want it to be Kokichi, and Tsugumi's witness account at the very least felt legit.

* In other words, I don't know the culprit! Maybe it's Keebo? My guess about a Rube Goldberg machine set up by Kokichi and triggered by either Gonta or Kaito appears to be wrong now.

well that was a decent break

We're skipping the basic explanation this time, and Kokichi asks about a tie - evidently, if two people tie as a leader, then you're good as long as one person's the real blackened - it evidently works like One Night Ultimate Werewolf.

"KAITO'S THE MURDERER!" Kokichi getting this shit off on the right foot! We immediately break the poisoning explanation - by Kokichi's own explanation. This guy just always lies!

Okay, so the Simulator was the real cause of death. Time to search within it, too. We're gonna Agree with Maki here that strangulation is probably it - it's hard to correlate reality to the game perfectly, but I'd thought Miu was strangled in the real world.

Keebo points out it's very hard to strangle someone of equal strength. Which makes it almost certain that the toilet paper roll was used to hang Miu - and that she was then pushed off the roof, perhaps? Posting this theory immediately since I'm sure we'll dissect it soon.

---

* Monokubs talk about how Himiko has changed, but Monokuma points out she's lost what made her unique. LOL. "Someday, my chest will grow like CRAZY."

Yup, we're presenting the roll right away.

Gonta's randomly arguing with us, lmao. We obviously immediately disagree with him by pointing out toilet paper can't tear in the game.

"Killed by toilet paper... it was a fitting end of her." Himiko is on fucking fire.

People are asking about who brought the hammer. Maki already knows, but we'll point it out anyway - it was Miu herself.

As for why? Let's Debate! We're going to Agree with Kokichi about the secret meetup, of course. She was planning to kill Kokichi.

This is one of the dumber Psyche Taxis in obviousness. [Miu] was trying to kill Kokichi in the [Virtual World], with the poison there as a [distraction]. Duh.

Kaito doesn't think Miu placed the bottle, though. Interesting. Debate time. Having a really hard time figuring out what to agree/disagree with, since Miu's non-human status isn't allowed here.

Oh wow, I'm dumb. Miu logged in after the rest of us. That was dumb.

We indicate the cell phone as proof that Miu logged out Kaito. Anyway, Kokichi points out the obvious, but now Kaito's all BELIEVE IN MY FRIENDS and zzz.

Kokichi points out he couldn't make it to the roof. People wonder whether Miu could've been there, but the fact is she was there. We present Tsumugi's testimony.

How did Miu cross? Kokichi's answer: Let's just let Shuichi figure it out (by Hangman's Gambit or something, probably). This is so awesome. Debate time. Anyway, the Wall Added by Miu is clearly what Miu used to transport herself. We then have to fight Kaito in a Rebuttal to point out that her avatar itself was changed.

Kokichi now points out that Kaito wasted our time. LOL. He ain't wrong. Kokichi essentially forces the Kubs' hands, causing them to reveal that there was no hidden route.

Gonta seems possible right now. Pleading ignorant this deep in?

Tsumugi's most interested in the loud bang. So let's focus on that for now. We also bring up Keebo's voice. Kokichi wants to bring up another clue. So we're Hangmanning. We luckily unearth the Mirai Hills sign very quickly. Then a Psyche Taxi wastes over 7 minutes of my life to explain which direction the signboard floated, yeesh.

We present the wall yet again. Obviously, it's a wraparound world. Kokichi: Everything is connected. Here comes the Hangman's Gambit - the World Loops.

Wait what the hell is this, the loop starts somewhere and we have to identify it? It's not the entire wall? This results in a quick game over.

I guess the Map Loading Point is the Loop point, but this is kind of a confusing phrase. Ahhh, this makes sense now - Miu drew the map weirdly deliberately. I also understand the comment about a looping point - I was just imagining the world to be cylindrical.

Kokichi is fucking fascinated by Shuichi now. "For you to get this far!" He's trying to go full Nagito, but he's not there. Everyone goes NICELY DONE SHUICHI except Kaito... but we haven't solved it yet, as Kokichi points out.

INTERMISSION

I really hope Kokichi ain't the killer, but we are literally zero closer to finding out the real killer! I'm very slightly suspecting Tsugumi, Gonta (by process of elimination), and Kokichi (though it would really suck). Keebo I suspect far less now that we know noise can go through Miu's wall, but there's not a ton of strong evidence that it's not him.

Storyline purposes seems to rule out Shuichi, Kaito, Maki, or Himiko.

Time to discuss how Miu's body was moved.

Gonta is being insanely dumb and it's starting to piss me off.

Anyway, Miu hit the wall, and that made the noise. We want to know how it was moved so quickly - but Kokichi basically tells us - the roof is slanted. We quickly Hangman's Gambit it (and my word, this version of it is by far the easiest to handle, even though the dark aspect of it is still annoying).

"It wouldn't slide, just like Maki roll said!" / "It would slide, just like Shumai said!" Kokichi's new nickname for Shuichi is excellent.

Debate time! It's clear that reducing friction was the purpose of the lattice.

Time to pick someone. I go with Gonta and die. WHOOPS. I guess Kokichi is the one who lied, by process of elimination. And of course he went to the roof.

Suddenly Kokichi's freaking. Huh? Well, we bluff and pretend that we know where Kokichi really was. It's a battle of wills, but in this "split decision," everyone already is on our side.

"You got some balls lying to me. I'm gonna take away your fun for pissing me off, Shuichi."

Oh yes.

Monokuma's back!

The culprit is Gonta.
