I went through the same thing. I had this crush on a girl that worked at toy store in the same mall that I worked at. After many months I finally gained the courage to ask her out and she said maybe. It was the same thing.

We never went out but it is now whatever. Im engaged now, and that memory is just a cliff note in my life. Im proud of myself for trying.

last girl I was into, I asked her out she said she didn't want to get involved with anyone from school and that I need to give her more time. W/e we didn't talk for a month.

A month later I ran into her again and we struck up a convo so we talked for a while. I dunno why but I got a different vibe so I decided to message her later that week. We ended up talking for like 3 hours, and we would fb chat and stuff throughout the week. I asked her out again and she said maybe.

A few weeks later she ended up coming over one night. We hooked up a few times after that. So all hope isn't lost. Just don't try to force anything. Don't play a game about it, but don't go out of your way. Just see what happens naturally when you see her around etc

Maybe try going out a little more often TC. Like, I dunno. Bar? Clubs? Conventions? Not anime expos tho unless you're an anime super fan. You really won't meet any new girls if you're a home-work kinda guy.
