I can see the confusion, but I knew what it meant.

when the united states entered the middle east many people said "they're going to get glassed" in reference to nuking the hell out of the desert.

it's not that hard to understand the misunderstanding, really.

it doesn't have anything to do with naivety though. it's word association. you hear "free drink" and see [glass him], the player would think, "oh okay, I'll get him a drink."

Glassing referring to nukes is a lot older than Halo. An old documentary about the Tsar Bomba talked about it melting the ground beneath the airburst zone into a sheet of black glass.

Not the same as that isn't being totally oblivious to past actions.

That's the only complaint I had with the game Wolf Among Us, when they gave me the option to ignore or glass a character, the Main Character smashed the characters face with the glass. I was trying to be polite but it ended up making my character a bigger asshole than just ignoring him.

you seriously can't understand how someone might misconstrue a term they've never heard before given the context? the scene itself is relatively calm and civil up until that point, I don't think the player is expecting a sudden 180 degree turn in intensity by a single dialogue choice.

Why in the hell would they use that term when they can and have used "give drink" or "offer a drink"? This really sounds like you don't have a good long term memory because the Huntsman was constantly hostile towards Bigby, even if you tried to be diplomatic. There is no reason to offer him a drink.
