It's a completely different architecture, to any direct comparison is impossible.

I think its a little weaker than the Gamecube. Since the Wii is just an overclocked Gamecube and the wii is on another stratosphere of the 3DS.

MGS3 3D runs at 20 FPS with regular frame drops even with severely lower polygon counts, and MGS3 ran at 30 FPS on the PS2 with no frame drops. The PS2 could run MGS2 at a consistent 60 FPS, and the Gamecube ran Twin Snakes, which was made in the MGS2 engine (which is very similar to the MGS3 engine), at 60 FPS. The Gamecube was significantly more powerful than the PS2, so, with my extremely limited knowledge of hardware specs, I'm going be extremely generous and say it's half as powerful as the Gamecube, if not less.

worse CPU than a PS2 but better GPU
