The Director's Cut was actually decent.

So much better than Resurrection.

Man I could talk about Alien 3 for days

The background behind the scenes is more interesting than the movie itself.

But's a badly written, nonsensical film that kinda destroys the ending of Aliens and its tone/plot is all over the place. That's why people don't like it.

Resurrection is a much much dumber film but it's not claiming otherwise. It's so intentionally fun that it's hard to hate it. 3 is trying to be serious and dark and gritty and as a result falls flat because it sucks.

The director's cut is my favorite in the franchise.

All four have their own distinct flavor. I don't remember Resurrection being a good movie, but I appreciated the comic book feel of the plot and direction.
