I read something that they're giving them like alternating hour-long blocks to read it.

So if all 100 of them wanted to read it it could take up to 100 hours.

That's just about the most "FBI" thing I've seen in ages.

Which makes it even more egregious of a lie that they say they didn't ask for this investigation a month ago. This whole thing could have been kept private to protect the victim.

I think it's basically just McConnell that's enforcing it, there's Senators from both sides that want it to be made public.

Like the fact it's not being made public is evidently standard protocol, but it's just the way McConnell (and maybe Grassley?) is handling this is really dumb. Like there's only going to be one copy >_>

Both sides have already pretty much said they know it's going to.

None of it matters though. The ends justify the means. Now the argument becomes that he's partisan so he can't be on the court. It doesn't matter if the allegations are completely fake at this point.

With the Russia thing, a lot of republicans seem convinced that the FBI is basically an arm of the democratic party or something

Not surprised they're not too excited about the investigation

Way I see it is they're going to schedule the vote before anyone that matters gets to read it.

Because that's the most obstructive McConnell thing to do.

People realize that Feinstein explicitly asked for this, right?

https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/02/politics/senators-fbi-report-kavanaugh/index.html

The top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, sided with McConnell, telling reporters at midday that she was concerned about witness confidentiality being breached should the reports be made public.

Feinstein indicated she's had many women approach her about stories of sexual misconduct and confidentiality, saying it's "not an easy subject."

"I think the investigation ought to be closely held," she reiterated. When asked how the American people will have confidence in the probe if its results are not made public, Feinstein said, "Well, let's see. ... I can't say, because I don't know what the investigation will say."

It would seem to me that if people are going to be identified, this ought to be held very close,

Feinstein sucks too. And I really don't think she has any moral authority when it comes to leaking documents.

Heh, no kidding.

But yeah I don't see much point if they are going to do it all in secret.

It is standard procedure not to release information to the public until the appropriate parts can be censored.

Please understand.
