It may hurt but if your throat gets dry its gonna hurt a lot worse and the cold can provide mild relief from pain Eat soft foods Ibuprofen can help with pain/swelling. If you cant take that Tylenol might help take the edge off the pain a bit. Higher dosage or medicated throat lozenges may help better than the standard 5ish mg menthol ones. If you get a severe neckache/highly stiff neck(Particularly if its rapid onset or with accompanying fever, headache, vomiting, back stiffness/pain, lethargy, confusion, or rash) get to a fucking doctor immediately because strep throat can cause meningitis which when not treated is fatal more than 50% of the time and most the time it isnt fatal to leads to serious long term complications when untreated/treated late Including deafness, gangrene, Brain damage and more. Strep is one of the leading causes of meningitis. Be on guard. With prompt treatment prognosis is pretty good for meningitis. Oh and dont go to work please.
