- Even after marriage, seemed to want to sleep with every attractive woman he met
- Had no real ambitions, it was just his father pushing him along that made him achieve anything
- When he got to the House of Representatives, he didn't take it particularly seriously, finding it boring
- Didn't stand up to his father for his sister, and she got lobotomised
- Apparently had his book ghost written for him, claiming he wrote it

I don't get it. Why is this president so enormously popular? He seemed to have a lot of problems. Is it just sympathy, because he got shot by some psycho?

His family are generally quite unpleasant and bad, as well. His father, his brother Ted.

also the lobotomy had a much better reputation in the 40s, it was a new procedure
