Everyone is. There was some news story recently that stated that by next year scam calls will outnumber legit calls being made.

Spoofing numbers is ridiculously easy so scammers spoof the first six digits and then mass call everyone in the last four so it looks like a local number.

I don't answer my phone anymore, if it's important they'll leave a voicemail.

I literally get over 20 calls a day from random numbers. Alot of the time if I answer it I'll just here a tone play and then it hangs up.

Yeah there was an article that more than 50% of calls will be fake by next year. I've definitely seen an uptick in the scam calls within the past 2 years. Fuck off robots.

Fun anecdote: somebody at work told a random caller that I'm the IT department and now this dude Angit from V-Tech Solutions has called me twice a week for over 2 years to sell me tech support. I recognize his number and always let it go to voice mail. Now he's started emailing me too and his "company" email format is first name dot last initial. LMAO get out of here with that bull shit.

Are they random or do they have your same area code and first 3 digits? Bullshit spam either way, but numbers often get reported as such and there is a new trend that started a year or two ago where bullshit spam numbers would be generated as the person's area code and exchange to appear to look familiar to increase the chances of people answering. They call and when you call back, they are disconnected.
