I really hate to ask with the internet, but does anyone like the internet anymore? Because ever since it was created, it has been full of negative stuff. From people hating and complaining about anything (like people hating on movies, on games, comics and so on) to people making the worst kinds of comments like racial, or people acting like a**holes. sometimes people tend to change conversation to the point it has nothing to do with the topic titles.

From time to time I try to ask the most honest questions like I do here on any Gamefaqs board. And then sometimes I get people hate all jerk to me, and there was a couple of times I ended up having a meltdown of sort. When all I wanna try to do is ask as honest of a question. I feel like it gets to the point that I consider the internet to be literally the world's number one worst place to go if people can't go there to do anything honest. I mean you always see people hating and complaining on a game, a movie, a book, an actor or actress and so on. To people making the worst comments like some you see on Youtube comments to even people acting like a**holes. Kind of makes me wanna stop using the internet or at the least use it less and less if I can't do anything honest like asking honest questions. Or maybe I should stop going on message boards or something.

It's enabled all of uber, tinder, amazon, music/movie/game piracy, and otherwise legit music/movie/game distribution.

Internet's awesome. Just don't read the comments sections.

Edit: And fuck yeah, porn.

This, but also it sounds like you're hanging out in the wrong groups. As long as you hang out where there isn't toxic stuff to you, or you just ignore the toxic the internet is the best thing, next to video games, music and fiction to ever exist in human history.

You mean despite all the hate and complaining about anything (again, like complaining and hating on a video game, or cartoon or anything) or people acting like a**holes, it's not THAT bad overall? Cause seeing so many of that it makes it feel like it's hard to do anything honest. Like me asking honest questions on any Gamefaqs board without the chance of someone coming on my topic acting all jerk to me.

I feel like it's pretty much a giant cesspool now, but it's probably just pure nostalgia when I think back to the "glory days" of the Internet.

One thing that's for sure, I do miss how open and free the Internet once was. Of course it was never going to last, but like, remember stuff like YouTube with no ads? That was cool.

Now most websites basically crash your computer because of all the malware rape.

It's a net positive, yes.

Maybe your honest questions are very ignorant and biased?

do this. the internet has a lot of vile hatred and you're better off just figuring things out yourself or finding the answer through research, not asking questions

I agree with most of whats been said so far. The internet is great in many ways, but human interaction is not one of them.

Honestly, I love the internet. If I see something I don't like I just close that tab, open a different one and it's fixed. It's as if an "tune out annoying people" button suddenly popped up on my remote control.

The internet has always had trolls and flamers. The problem is that now everyone has access to it. It isn't like the year 2000 when people barely knew how to use the internet. People now a days are very fluent and because of that we have a generation of people who are cold as can be. Take public transportation for instance, almost everyone will be on their phone or listening to something on headphones, it's a completely anti social society. Go to a college campus, same thing. Growing up I used to get stopped on the street and asked directions, that's completely gone. If you didn't know something you had to ask someone older than you or more knowledgeable, google does that now. We've let ourselves become enslaved by the phones and computers we carry, it's sad. We're living in one of the most stressful periods in human history, there is a barrier to entry to practically every profession right now it's absolutely ridiculous, most of these jobs are easy to do if you get the practice in but every place wants a 4 degree now like they're offering you the opportunity of a lifetime to be their indentured servitude.
