The AT-LP120-USB leaves a lot to be desired and needs substantial upgrades from cart to replacing the built in pre-amp, new platter mat. It only seems heavy because there is a metal plate in the base meant to deceive. There are lots of better options especially if you do some research and look for used TT on AudioGone, CL, eBay etc. But either way if used as an entry TT into vinyl it's a good thing, but I would be skeptical it would leave a user feeling lack luster and lose interest in the hobby. I've seen it happen a lot, but then again not everyone is an audiophile like myself. --- We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise. I learned a lot by picking through there weekly. The guy lived in an apartment above the store and would just sit there and spin vinyl all day.
