men.
Like she literally moans in battle when she smells the body odor of a man and it drops her defenses.

Her name is Asura
>_>

She also has a squad story where
She gets caught doing something bad so she offers to fuck the two guys who caught her. The guy says no thanks because he's not into mating lmao. The other guy can only follow directions, he's basically a drone. It was a pretty good squad story..

Anyway, I'm playing the game again. Still on Chapter 9, but I unlocked almost every Squad Story (I think)

I've unlocked 13 and beat 12 of them. Looks like there are only 2 more spots left and I have a general idea what the remaining squad story is because I got a certain squad mate to corporal and nothing unlocked for her.

Are you playing through the game? Don't read that spoiler if you are.

When you use a unit for 20 actions in the story mode (actions in Skirmishes count for less) they will rank up to Corporal.

Each Squad Story involves 3 squad mates. Get at least one of the three squad mates to Corporal Rank to unlock their corresponding Squad Story.

There are a couple conditions however. You need to have all three squad mates unlocked/alive to unlock the story, so this means a lot of stories can only be played after a certain chapter.
Almost all of them will unlock by Chapter 9 though. Assuming you never let squad mates die.

Some characters also have secret conditions for unlocking and are still part of a Squad Story. So if your favorite character isn't getting their story unlocked, it could be because you don't have a secret character.

I literally farmed the chapter 1 map to get all of the needed squad mates to corporal. Usually you can tell which units are grouped together for a story based on the people they like, so just pick one and you can get that character to corporal after just 2 turns on chapter 1.

The enemies are weak and they literally give you like 30 moves for the first two turns. So just keep selecting the character and have them do nothing after the enemy is dead. The win condition is based on getting to the end, not clearing the enemies.

Dude, it's awesome. I'm loving it. I thought the series was dead after that spin off game and then this comes out and improves so much over the first game.

I want to progress in the story, but I have a problem where I always feel compelled to playing through side content as soon as it's available >_>

Plus if beat all the squad stories, I can finally pick my team for the rest of the game since I know what everyone's final skills are and personalities.

i was hoping we'd get something similar, console wise, over here in the states. all of my dreams came true.

fuck valkyria revolution btw. what a huge disappointment.

i've been playing it like i played the first game (defense buffing a scout and rushing them to take base camps), so i've only unlocked 3 squad stories by chapter 11 cause i think they're tied to either kills or turns taken

i want to play the game normally, but my compulsion to a-rank missions is too strong. fucking hate that the rank is tied to turn count and not taking out most of the enemy/minimizing losses or something

I've gotten an A rank on every mission without buffing a scout and rushing. I find scout mobility slightly less important in this game, now that Scouts can command other units to travel with them, and the APC can carry units etc.

I make sure to kill every enemy ace and kill as many units as possible for the bonus weapons and money.

By the way, there is actually more to A ranking missions in this game. They grant royal weapons based on other conditions, such as clearing enemies. So they actually do reward other strategies besides speed, just through overpowered weapons.

With all that said, Minerva and Odin have personal skills where they get DOUBLE movement. Just something to keep in mind. And there are AP increasing accessories.

They don't perma-die unless an enemy walks up to a downed squad mate. Normally, when you walk up to a downed squad mate, you evacuate them from the battle. But with Engineers, you can just use revive ragnaraid and you can still use the downed unit.

I guess they did this to buff Engineers, I didn't even notice until I watched a youtube video just now, of someone let's playing the tutorial levels.

This could mean some interesting tactics with the last stand mechanic.

I actually let my units get downed, in some scenarios it helps for A rank.

Like for Chapter 8
I put Zaiga or whatever his name is behind the Hafen to soak up damage from those evil babes and block the Hafen's weakpoint. Human meat shields are great for tank rushing >_>

Speed is strategy. But for those who are wondering.

Here are the conditions for the Royal weapons

Royal weapons:

After some battles, you may be rewarded with royal weapons (though they aren't really "royal" anymore). You get one weapon by meeting each of the following conditions (one weapon per condition met):
- A rank or better
- kill all infantry leaders (*)
- kill all enemy tanks (**)
- have no ally KO'd
- have no ally killed
(*) The complete condition is killing as many enemy infantry leaders as there are enemy infantry leaders without counting aces and bosses.
(**) Bosses, bunkers, AT cannons and gatlings don't count.

According to the VC4 PS4 board.

So you actually do get rewarding for survivability, taking out tanks, enemy leaders etc

Just did a few other ones today: Aoife/Jascha/Hanna (I think that's who they were) and Fleuret/Rebecca/Mabel, plus that unlucky scout + Teresa + that dorky author grenadier. I don't think I have anyone in squad story territory now, other than Curtis.

Damn, this game is good. I just beat Chapter 10 and 11.

Anyone who thinks this game is just scout rushes isn't playing the same game >_>

Chapter 10 and 11 were awesome.

Chapter 10 was a tower defense, utilizing snipers

Chapter 11 was great as well and heavily valued mixed unit play. Lancers to take out the turrets. Grenadier to take out the Grenadiers on the towers. Scouts to capture points to spawn reinforcements. Tanks to clear Claude's escape. Snipers to pick off far enemies. Shocktroopers to fight off enemy reinforcements etc

#38:

I think Snipers are still abysmal and unusable. I think the new sniper rifles with 3 bullets are cool and I like that they can give cover fire and supporting fire, but there's still very little reason to use them vs the other classes.

And I actually think Engineers are much worse in this game. In the first game, there were mines everywhere. In this game, not so much. There's really no point of using them, since you can refill all ammo with an order and almost every Lancer, Grenadier, Sniper etc has a skill that refills ammo.
They are still better than Snipers overall, but they don't fill any role really. Like you don't really need to deploy them ever it seems.

Lancers were actually buffed overall and are useful now. I totally changed my mind after my first impression of the classes in the demo. There are so many turrets and tanks in this game, and Lancers can now be carried by APCs and Scouts so they can actually kill far away tanks now. A cool thing to do is just bring a Lancer with you as a scout. Switch to lancer to clear the way of tanks for the scout to move on their second turn.

and the rest of my impressions have been true so far. Tanks and Scouts are the best classes. Shocktroopers got a buff from 1 and are pretty good. Grenadiers are good, but honestly not as good as I thought when I played the demo.

Their mobility does get annoying after a while and they aren't good for general battle. They are very situational. But they offer some extreme cheesing potential for some maps.
Namely anti armor grenadier cheese

Snipers kick ass, yo. Anytime you need to countersnipe, blow up crates by a bunker from weird positions, pick off high-ranking units, or lay down long-range suppression fire, you're glad they're with. If anything, it's easy to be overreliant on their pinpoint accuracy. If they were better at tanking down those friggin' heavy AT gatlings (etc.), they'd be almost perfect.

The Twins can be hit by sniper fire -- I've done it point-blank from the front before. It's not 100% dodging. Of course, anyone aiming at them should be going for surprise attacks since they have scout-like interception range (270 degrees). As for ragna crates, there's one battle (like the first Siegval Line battle) where your sniper can boop a crate all the way on the other side of the map, right at the start. That's efficiency no one else is matching.

But yes, a shocktrooper to the back of the head is amazing for the twins. So satisfying.
