The voice acting was good, the combat was simplistic god of war type 3d beat em up, and the puzzles were occasionally good. Story is stupid as fuck and the sneaking sections in los 2 were straight up garbage, but I weirdly still liked playing them. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'm a huge CV fan, and I only played the first one, and I loved it. It was nothing like any of the others, but it was one of my favorite hack-and-slash games that gen.

I'm counting mirrors of fate, which they ported to consoles and which also was nice, being the closest thing to the symphony of the night/handheld style games we'll ever get, flaws notwithstanding.
Playing as 3 different characters wasn't awful either, you got to play as alucard and a redhead, possibly simon belmont edit: turns out it might have been trevor belmont --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Agreed publishers should tell the fans that its only a spin off series and not suppose to replace the main when they do somethong like that. Lords of Shadow 2 is definitely one of the most underrated games last gen. This getting low scores and Bioshock Infinite getting straight 10s is when I started distrusting professional reviews. ... I held off on LoS2 because it came out so late in the gen I figured it would be ported to PS4... and after years of not happening I grabbed it cheap in a PS3 game sale and really liked it. Definitely got more hate than it deserved.
