Just kinda been thinking about it, but zombies feed on essentially whatever creature they can get their hands on, with most settings focusing on the human aspect. Ignoring the meta fact that it wouldn't make them a big threat if they were eating each other or their own selves, it seems really reasonable that any non supernatural versions would wind up just trying to eat one another, even if you try to argue it out that they need "fresh" meat, they'd still wind up ripping apart the more recently turned. Most zombies are presented as being mentally degraded, acting more on instinct, so it seems unlikely they'd have the mental capacity to distinguish between a non zombie; only time that ever gets pointed out is in a comedic tone, such as Shaun of the Dead.

The Walking Dead has a good answer to this: zombies can recognize the smell and general behavior of other zombies. Humans are even able to trick them into thinking they're zombies if they cover themselves with decayed flesh and just walk slowly.
