Otherwise there are a few minions worth upgrading and are more useful than some main heroes/villains:
Hand Sentry
Merc Lt
Merc Riot Guard

You dont need shield minions for Iron Man...you just need toons with the shield tag.

That's what happens at the higher levels, you're stagnate until the game gives you the materials/gold/shards you need

For me it is like I am in a odd place. I don't know if this is how the game is or if I just suck. To get the parts I need, I need to beat higher levels. However I can't beat those higher levels until I get the parts I need.

Some stuff being behind a paywall also kinda hinders your progress, free-to-play players will always move at a snail's pace compared to people who drop money on the game

Thats how they get you to pay! Though yeah my team is level 58, and gear tier 8. With defenders I got most of the purple gear mats unlocked, but not all, so I rely on raiding to get the rest. Using all my raid currency on purple gear mats, and hope the purple gear orb gives good stuff.

Pyro starts on the next blitz (Thursday) and then again the following Thursday.

I feel sad that I couldn't get my Defenders team to 4 stars before the event... Unless I want to spend all my cores. While DD and LC are 5 Star, JJ, IF, and Punisher are 3 star with around 40 shards each left to go...

for me i got

Cage at 6 stars
Daredevil and Jessica Jones at 5 stars
Iron Fist and Punisher at 4 stars

I finally got Daredevil so my Defenders team is complete!

Possible silly question: is it better to level units one level at a time to properly power them up with gear or is it okay to go from 1 to 40 if you have the materials? Does it matter?

as soon as I unlocked thanos I immediately bumped his levels up, you're gonna need to do it anyway since both abilities and gear have level requirements

There's no problem with leveling or upgrading as you go whenever possible. It will make no difference on final stats for a fully maxed character.

So anyone got good tips on that Wolverine fight for Nexus? I was told to put anti heals and blind on him but isn't he supose to be super mez resistant too?

idk what fight you mean but wolverine has one of the lowest resistances in the game

I'm still at chapter 5 or 6 in the nexus campaign

How good is Juggs ? I think I want to use him to replace hand sentry on my Mystic team.

I really want to fit juggs in there some place.
He is at 3*

Vision, Yondu, BW, XBones, Cap

I've been able to stay in the top 100 pretty consistently.

I get purple gear wherever I can, but I usually stick with the raid store. It's much less of a headache after 3*ing the final gear challenge.

I get most of my purple gear from the raid supply shop as well.

The drop rates for purple gear in campaign is terrible but the stuff i usually need at the time isn't in the shop rotation lol

Black panther and Ms marvel are the main thing that make my brawler team work in blitz. He's frail but he gets many turns.

Looking like I will only be clearing the first 2 stars of magneto event first time around. Maybe 3 if the second pyro blitz gives out rewards before it ends. This is also assuming that my 7* wolverine can handle most of those stages by himself.

Pyro looks fun but very frail. Juggernaut is awesome though.

I was close to 3* for pyro so i impusivly spent some of my stockpiled cores and pulled 180 shards. Almost have him to 5* now.

Should be able to 3* for magneto and then 5 star is possible second time around if they add a way to farm Juggernaut.

I got enough from the blitz to have you at 2* and 47/55 towards 3*. I figured it was worth taking the chance at one pull to hit 3* but ended up with the max 180 shard pull.

WOW how many milestones did you reach? I got no where close to one pull with blitz maybe I am doing it wrong.

I did all the milestones, though I normally don't. These special event milestones definitely motivate me to blitz a bit more. Just got a 25 shard sabertooth pull so kind of close to unlocking him now. He should be the next event which will require villains.

I'm thinking yondu, thanos, Loki, mordo, Merc lt or kingpin.

Finally got to lvl 60 and got Luke Cage's ult to last 2 turns. So good.

Yeah that's a priority when upgrading the Defenders along with Iron Fist's passive and special

What's the point of Iron Fist's passive? It heals all the Defenders at the beginning of the fight but not any time else. It's useful in Alliance Raids, but nowhere else.
