I always wanted to watch tnba, and this was tnba with slightly better quality, and most important of all easily the best joker design. It combined the classic btas design of joker with the tnba design, and joker looks particularly sinister with black lipstick instead of red. And the very fact that it's not like the unfortunate tnba redesign (which I don't even hate anymore as much as I used to) is a great thing in and of itself.

And that horrifying scene of joker torturing Robin? Chills. Batman completely losing it and slapping joker who tries to crawl away while the projector is rolling and the light is on them which elongates their shadows? That was beautifully, superbly animated. Absolutely captivating. It was raw and freaking amazing, I don't think the show ever did something that raw.

Return of the joker is a pretty good movie itself and I'm a batman beyond fan, but I actually wanted to see more of the past segment than I did beyond, though again I like batman of the future and that final fight scene with joker was fantastic, and crowning moment of awesome for terry getting into joker's head.

Sorry but that always bothered me ever since I found out that the vhs copy we had was the "censored" version. It's like being shot with a bullet bill instead of an actual bullet.

One of the akrkm batman games plays with this and it's far more brutal than the animated series.

Batman Beyond had a rather high body count now that I remember it more, remember the guy whose powers pretty much sent him to the center of the earth?

I actually just beat arkham knight, so finally finished all 4 games. Not sure which arkham game plays with what exactly though, could you elaborate?

For me those scenes felt basically like the end and final episode of the animated series. And it deserved that sort of love and attention. I bet the animators felt that way too.

I loved the past segment but you wanted that to be the end of the animated series? It's kinda miserable isn't it, with tim breaking down crying and in the comics this is where barbara hangs up her cape and joins the force which makes sense.

You mean when they show how joker was torturing jason? Arkham series is a bit darker than dcau from which it borrows heavily from so they tend to be a lot more graphic.

I remember when I first learned that dcau combined elements of jason into their version of tim drake, for better or worse. I think the whole being captured by joker is a dead giveaway though of course I only found out about the comics decades after I grew up with the show.
