Unfortunately we are so deep into it now that we almost have to ride it out in order for us not to get screwed and get a good deal. Chinas way of doing business was screwing over our companies, so something had to change. Hopefully it ends up being a long term success at the cost of some short term losses.

Too many have grown accustomed to buying cheap Chinese junk and it hurts products made over here. So I agree something had to give and yeah for the short term it'll appear worse than it is. Just a shitty thing that companies will dump employees instead of making better adjustments or skipping those CEO bonuses.

Fortunately I'm only a hobby farmer, I don't do this to make money. But my neighbors, for whom farming is their main source of income, these trade wars are killing them. And that 12 billion in aid that Trump promised? Nowhere to be found around here. Most of it went to the corporate megafarms, not the little guys with 160 acres.

This is the sad truth. China is panicking, and their "countermeasures" are merely showing how sorely over-reliant we've been towards them. We were getting taken advantage of already. This is the financial equivalent of painfully cutting off tumors. It's going to hurt, but it'll be worth it in the long run.
