The last part of the Level Complete music is taken straight from the Main Theme.

I knew most of the tracks were based on the main theme, but I never noticed that one.

It took me 15 to figure out that the Sunken Ship was one of the airships from Super Mario Bros. 3.

Is it a specific one? And how did it end up in Dino Land? O,o

Bosses are immune to the eat command so it won't be possible to end the final boss fight of the game by eating it.

To the best of my knowledge, no, but look at the sprites the next time you're there. As to how it ended up in Dino Land, presumably Bowser and the Koopalings flew it there after being trounced by Mario in Mario 3. Someone told me the instruction manual expounds upon it further, but I lost my copy many, many years ago.

I remember being like 8 or 9, playing the game a few years after it came out and discovering the secret levels behind star road and thinking I had stumbled into some freaking Illuminati level shit that no one else knew about

I still don't know the difference between the big and small circles used to represent the levels on the world map. I know yellow means one exit and red means more than one exit, but I don't know what small and big means.

Did you know that when you go through a key exit on a Yoshi, you can have Yoshi spit the key out his mouth.

I somehow never realized that the music changes when you are riding Yoshi until within the last 5 years or so (I learned it from some YouTube video). I have no idea how I never noticed it on my own...

Interesting, I tried so hard to make some type of connection between the large dot stages, but I guess there really isn't one haha

The problem there is that most of the English NES and SNES manuals were written by people who had barely played the game in question, and had absolutely no insight into the intentions of the actual developers, so they'd often contain ideas and things which were more or less completely made up just to fill space. There's a lot of stuff in English manuals from that era that are absolute bullshit.

So it's possible that actually WAS the original intention... or it's possible that some intern in Nintendo of America noticed the ship and remembered there were ships in SMB3 and just drew a connection that was never originally intended.

I swear the US manual for the original Mega Man claimed the game had a two player mode.
