what the fuck are you taking about? Heres an example, often times black people get put down if they talk a certain way. It comes from within the community. Why do you talk white?! Is often said. You know thats true. Things like the Black Excellence hashtag is trying to kill that line of thinking by showing success and positivity. Some people within that community think theyre supposed to act a certain way because of that type of mentality.

So this is their way of helping their community move past that. Showing their youth that they can be who they are. There isnt a way black people are supposed to act regardless of what some within the community might say. Something people like you keep saying they need to do..but once they do it you bitch and moan about it. What the fuck do you want?

It seems some people are looking at this too simplistically with some jealousy thrown in ("if we can't say #whiteexcellence, they can't say #blackexcellence!")

Even if they look the same, the meanings are not the same. #BlackExcellence is simply a hashtag for empowerment to show other black youth what they are capable of. As a historically disadvantaged group, this makes sense. What sense would #WhiteExcellence make? In what context would such a phrase be used in? Most people would interpret it as a hashtag promoting superiority as that what "white excellence" generally meant in the past.

Do not be mad at black people for this. Be mad at your white brethren for twisting what could have also been an empowerment phrase into something ugly.
