I wouldn't call democratic policies racist, but I do believe that keeping the poor propped up by the government is a terrible way to do things. There should be safety nets and programs to help people who really need it, but if you take things too far it removes motivation to actually work and benefit society and themselves.

I say this as someone who grew up poor with a single mother who used housing assistance (and I think it really benefited my upbringing and obviously helped her out), but if she didn't work and instead relied on government handouts to get by, it would have had a negative impact on my work ethic and maybe would have created an attitude of being "owed" things just for existing.

This is why both parties are wrong and a middle path is the most beneficial.

Drugs, crime, poor education, poor health rates, high unemployment, low median income and high poverty all across rural counties in the south. Who are they voting for? It's not Democrats and their political ideology is not on the left. They've been right wing Republican strongholds for decades.
