I can think back to when Howard Finkel, Tony Chimel, and Lilian Garcia would say the full name of a championship as they introduced everyone for a title match.

So as an example, The following contest scheduled for one fall is for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship.

Not once since the name change have they ever said World Wrestling Entertainment in the same way. It just doesn't sound right.

Not once since the name change have they ever said World Wrestling Entertainment in the same way. It just doesn't sound right.

WWF just rolled off the tongue. And Federation sounds way more legitimate than Entertainment.
