Bush wasn't THAT bad. I mean, I'm not fan of the right wing, and he was no intellectual heavyweight (lol), but he seems like a good man, and he had a fair bit of charisma. You have to remember, he was dealt a very bad hand. How would you like it, if 8 months into your presidency, something like 9/11 happened? Bush was basically decent...just about.

I've read plenty about the presidents. Just because you lot don't agree with me, doesn't make me ignorant. And of course a Briton would have different opinions to Americans. That shouldn't be a surprise. I mean, almost half of Americans voting in the last election voted for Trump. You think many Britons, or non-Americans in general, approve of that?

Abolish the Great tier and move Lincoln down to Very Good.
Move LBJ to Okay.
Move FDR to Very Good.
Move Obama to Good.
Move Clinton to Okay.
Move JFK to Good.
Move Washington to Very Good.
Move Truman to Good.
Move Polk to Good (wtf were you putting him down there for?)
Move Reagan to Okay.

Also I think that Thomas Jefferson needs to be in the Very Good tier even though he wasn't mentioned on your list. He belongs there.

Doesn't it bother you that Roosevelt hid / downplayer a very serious illness to the public? Doesn't it bother you that Reagan was a right wing nut? Doesn't it bother you that Polk was...almost completely forgettable?

Nope, not in the slightest. He was just trying to avoid bad press.

Doesn't it bother you that Reagan was a right wing nut?

There are many things I dislike about Reagan, but he still had some positive impact, particularly with respect to the Soviet Union and the perception of the US by the rest of the world (particularly the former Soviet Bloc). I don't think he belongs in the bottom tier.

Doesn't it bother you that Polk was...almost completely forgettable?

That is the fault of people's ignorance and not a reflection on his actual accomplishments. In just a single term the borders of the US expanded dramatically under his administration. The part of the US that I live in right now was acquired during his presidency. I should be grateful for him for that. What was called "Oregon Country" could have ended up in British hands had we had a President who was less keen on westward expansion at the time, which would mean the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and a bit of Montana would be Canadian today.

Say what you want about Polk, but the fact of the matter is that when judging a president by their campaign goals alone, he was arguably the most successful president in history.

Open question to anyone who thinks highly of FDR.

Why?

The New Deal had mixed results but no one can dispute that unemployment was still awfully high during it's implementation.

He forced thousands of Japanese Americans into internment camps early in WW2 but felt okay with letting German and Italian Americans serve.

In what can only be described as a power play, he tried to stuff new seats into the SCOTUS and fill them with yes-men.

His composure and ability to keep the country civil during a terrible time stands out to me, but I just don't see how that or anything else overcomes his issues and elevates him to greatness.

In FDR's case, he was just hiding a personal medical issue that did not prevent him from doing his job. People were prejudiced about dumb things back then. He was just being careful about his political image. Every politician does that.

That should not be compared with actual criminal conspiracies while in office in Nixon's case. As with Clinton and Lewinsky, the real issue there was him lying under oath and also using his connections to have the press smear her. Not at all the same thing.

Lulz. Are you serious?

So, the people who worked for him knew, but not the millions who were expected to vote for him, and have enough information to do so well? You are a great shill for certain presidents. You should've campaigned for them or something, talking up their good points, and glossing over their bad stuff.

I see nothing wrong with it and can't wait for the Democrats to do it (properly this time) when they regain power.

Then before losing power, lock it off so the GOP can't do the same thing when they're in control.
