I mean, think about it.

The economy will probably collapse sometime before 2020.

If the democrats control the house, the economic collapse will be 100% blamed on them, which will ensure that the Republicans will completely sweep 2020.

At lease if the republicans get full control in the mid-terms, it will be harder to blame democrats for the collapse.

No?

A recession is not an "economic collapse" and is not the fault of any president, past or present. They are inevitable. Of course, try telling any of this basic knowledge to derp leftists.

None of this matters.

It's all about being able to lay the blame.

Hard to lay the blame on someone who's not in power.

Democrats controlled the House and Senate in 2006-2008 and everyone still blamed Bush for the Great Recession

If the President wants to tie himself to the economy when it's doing well, he should be prepared for people to look at him when it does poorly. It's very simple lol

I don't really care when the next recession happens or who's in power at the time, I'll still blame Democrats either way.

No it's not. Learn some basic fucking econ for God's sake. Recession =/= economy. It's a contraction of credit and debt and is a standard deleveraging period.

Very many people won't make the distinction

If the President wants to tout high employment and the DOW numbers without having a particularly intelligent assessment of those things, then don't be fucking shocked when people blame him when those things don't look as good anymore.

I don't care what the president says. He says lots of things. He's complaining about the feds raising interest rates, when he should be praising them since it means the economy is booming. In fact you'd think that would be an opportunity to take a swipe at Obama since growth has been so slow under his term for so long that they waited until just a year ago to bring interest rates higher than 0. What matters is historically we have recessions every 5-8 years, and how to get through them gracefully.

Trump still blames the Democrats every time something goes wrong and people still believe it even though the Republicans already control all 3 branches of government. Wouldn't make a difference.

What you care about is irrelevant

I'm just saying that the vast majority of people will blame the President when things inevitably go south and I'm explaining why that is
