I think they get crushed in the senate races.

But, they can take a page from Ryans playbook and make sure no Trump legislation passes before he gets kicked out in 2020.

I find it odd that the Dems chances of taking the House are increasing at almost the same rate that taking the Senate is decreasing. What's the logic there?

hard to say, ground game can vary wildly in midterms

current polls suggest +1 to +2 GOP in the senate

but it could actually swing way harder if republicans dont show up to vote

More democrat seats are up in the Senate and flipping it would have required taking some dark red states.

However, if the races are close its a good sign long term.

The demographics are changing and the RNC knows it.

they didn't have much chance in the senate to begin with, the seats up for grabs are mostly sitting in republican territory. dems made gains before the recent supreme court bullshit, but it was never going to be enough to win solid red seats. 2020 is far more favorable for dems in the senate.

Yeah, I get that the Dems have a godawful map to play with. What I don't understand is the rate of change. The Dems chances are getting worse in the Senate at almost the same rate as they are improving in the House

Trump is shook though because Nunes won't be able to protect him anymore.

I'm a tad more optimistic

Unless they have a very very good night. Like a once in a generation type of thing, I doubt they'll take the senate.

However I don't see the GOP picking at any of the Dem incumbents besides the North Dakota senator whose name I hate spelling

MT, MO, IN, WV, FL seem close but I just don't see the GOP pulling it off.

MAYBE Florida

Even then, NV and AZ both have a strong chance of going to the Dems

And also I got a funny feeling about Texas. Iunno.

Call it a gut feeling I guess but I'm getting 2016 Clinton v. Trump vibes from that whole race

Yea like I said it's just a gut feeling. Not based on any concrete polling numbers or whatever.

Just the whole "hated incumbent with no charisma vs. this charismatic dude with ridiculous energy behind him"

It'll probably be a wash, but Iunno after 2016 I'm hesitant to disregard that sort of thing.

I think, at the very least, the Texas results will be a lot closer than the recent polls are making it out to be.

I wish TN would elect a popular former governor to the senate instead of a tea party buffoon

but alas, the power of (R) is too strong
