Well really one question I think. Are the lock buttons and volumes buttons clicky? My Oneplus 3 has the best buttons I've ever used, they're responsive and totally clicky even through a pretty soft case. I'm a little worried about upgrading for that reason alone.

Yes they're clicky and feel good. The only issue I have as far as "buttons" go is related to the onscreen navigation buttons or rather the lack of them.

Everything is gesture based, but some of the gestures aren't intuitive at all.

What did you expect from a company that put a massive notch on their XL phone for literally no reason?

LOL, what a fucking disaster.

It's bad enough that phones are moving to virtual buttons for home / back / etc, but replacing them altogether with gestures.

I'm really glad Pixel 3 has the notch and 18:9 screen to put me off, because otherwise I might've considered one, and I woulda been pissed when I actually got it and it turned out to have such a shitty interface.

The Pixel 3 XL I had was the single most disappointing product I've ever purchased. I couldn't believe how bad the interface was, especially after all I was told about in regards to stock Android.

What kind of phone did you have before? What did you dislike about the 3 XL?

Didn't phones move to virtual home/back/etc buttons literally years ago now? And what's wrong with 18:9

I don't want you guys to think I'm being a rabid defender or anything, I truly want to know because I'm interested in the 3

I had a Note 8. Went back to it.

I really would prefer stock Android but the UI was terrible

Can you literally install pretty much any launcher on a pixel?

Yes, but Android Pie is weirdly intrusive even with launchers. I don't know what the deal is with Pie. It's so different from Google's usual "behind the scenes" ethos.

That's weird. Intrusive how?

Yes, intrusive how? I'm curious to know what you're talking about.

Oh look, people get asked to actually elaborate on their criticisms and suddenly they're silent. What a surprise.
