It's a gacha so unless theres a guarantee I doubt theres a fixed amount. Least I assume that to be the case

What is a gacha.

You make pulls/draws for characters and the chances of getting the better characters are slim.

Normally you are looking at a 10-20% chance per pull at getting a top rarity item/hero. Then some games offer a guaranteed top rarity pull if you do a multi-pull (usually 10x pull). So maybe you do a 10x pull and get 1x top rarity hero/item but the pool of top rarity items is usually 100+ big with the featured items having a higher chance but not much.

Usually the older the game gets the more generous the rates get. But for a game like Valkyrie Connect you have a 20% chance of getting an SSR every time you pull but the pool of SSR characters/items is like 300 deep. So the chance of you getting the specific hero/item you want is incredibly slim.

As an example a banner they did recently was this (and this was seen as a very good value banner)

First multi pull (10x) - 5% chance of getting a featured hero (for the entire pull not 5% for each slot of the 10)
Second multi pull - 10% chance
Third multi pull - 25% chance
Fourth multi pull - 25% chance
Fifth multi pull - 50% chance

Pull cost was 1000 > 1500 > 3000 > 3000 > 3000 (so 11500 total cost). . I did all 5 pulls and got zero featured heros (rough math says that's a 25% chance), luckily it was with saved diamonds and not real money (as a rough guide 11500 is about $100)

Basically Gacha games prey on people gambling against the RNG to get the heroes/items they want. And they all gradually power creep upwards to phase out heroes and ensure newer banners still entice people in even if they got all the previously awesome characters.

Typically all non highest rarity units/drops are worthless after a while and are only good as very temporary fillers

Jeanne d'Arc Alter is a super rare unit in the Gacha Fate Grand/Order. If you spend 3 of the in game currency you have a 0.7% of getting her on the banner. Said in game currency can be earned by playing the game or paid for. Dudes like gravy pay for it cause they don't have better things to do with their money.

I believe it's like $15 for 30 of the currency? So every $15 gives you like 7% chance of getting the unit or so. I'm not above paying for games like this but I'd never spend on this one the rates are just too ass.

Valkyrie Connect rates are far worse than Fate Grand/Order with certain units being ridiculously game breaking to the point where if you don't have them, you have zero chance against them.

The chance of getting Esquire on a multi-pull is under 1%. That's for the entire pull, not 10 chances at 1%. A multi pull costs $25. All other things being equal, there is no way someone without Esquire can feasibly beat someone using Esquire.

She also only turns up on a certain banner which rolls around about once a month for 2-3 days (with every unit on that banner being OP). So there is a heavy incentive to whale on that banner.

For the record I spent like approximately 150 dollars per Jalter

Talk about cost efficient huh??????

Yeah, rates suck. The good thing about FGO is that almost every unit in-game is usable, regardless of rarity.
