I've been mainly observing Rockstar's release of RDR2 and I really appreciate how they've shown very little of the game. This makes it magical the first time you play through, say, the intro scene of the game and are left in awe. The last of us did this really well with its opening scene, and with the game in general.

I feel like it's a lost art in a day and age where devs show so much of the game just through ads and whatnot.

Game stories can definitely be spoiled, but honestly I'm not even talking about subtle hints (like a character wearing clothes in a trailer that you haven't seen after they are left with a questionable fate). I'm talking about showing very little about a game, just the barebones gameplay or one stage for demo purposes.

Rockstar has done a great job to this end. We know very little about the plot, how exact game mechanics work, etc. At most we have had glimpses of it, but other than that, we just know it'll be a solid game.
