Leaving Seattle today to go back home from a week long vacation in both places. Both places have beautiful environments, Portland just felt more genuine for whatever reason. Both places lack diversity though. Two of the whitest places I've ever been to lol also Portland had better foods but worse bars.

I am currently doing a three part PNW trip from portland-seattle-vancouver and would definitely agree, I met so many rude people in seattle. disagree about the bars from personal experience the bars in seattle i went to were all pretty shitty except one where i caught a local show. both places had amazing food but Seattle's tended to be very expensive comparatively

I did get a weird sense of "performative Portland-ness" and a lot of passive aggressiveness in both cities

Vancouver tho...this place is absolutely not for me lol

The people in Portland were phenomenal. Amazing all around. I feel like Seattle got worse the longer I was here. Went from comically kind and nice people to douchebag college frat guys in a day or two. Doesnt help that there was a huge college game this weekend here though.

there were mostly nice people in portland and the only really bad experience I had was a woman who worked at Powell's books who literally grilled me on my book choice

I am not ruling out Washington state if Colorado continues to go to shit. Being one of the first states to legalize marijuana caused millions of couch-crashing, drunk-driving, entitled dipshits to flock here and clog up the streets and buy everything from the stores.
