I did this recently. The package was on the next street over so I figured it'd be arriving at any moment, then it kept getting further and further away and wasn't delivered until several hours later.

What if it gets to like "two stops remaining" and then I cancel it xd

Sometimes they'll even take a picture of where they drop it off too

They do sometimes have the driver take a picture of your door step if you arent home to show you exactly where they left it.

Once the picture was of the front of my house and the package was left in the walkway leading up to my porch. Meaning it was in plain site and just a few steps from people on the sidewalk. I sent a complaint and never heard back from them.

It reminds me of those horror stories where the person lives like two hours away from the distribution center but somehow the package gets routed to Haiti and then Puerto Rico and then back to the distribution center and then like two hours the other direction.

It's interesting, so my immediate neighborhood is off of a highway that feeds into a road that feeds into a few smaller streets. I live on one side where the street forks into a cul-de-sac and then continues down a bit into another cul-de-sac and there are a dozen or so single family homes. The streets that feed off on the other side are lined with townhouses. I've never walked down there, because I just assumed the streets ended and that was it (and they do, according to the map), but now I'm wondering if it's possible to walk to the other neighborhood on the other side... I just assumed that to get there you had to drive.

Thanks Amazon delivery for sparking my curiosity.

The answer is algorithms. Nobody does manual routing and the autonomy generating routes for everything isn't optimal for every package. So sometimes a bunch of packages get picked up from a shipping center, but based on the actual delivery schedule for your area it may get bounced around as a byproduct of that sub optimality.

Holy cow that is the only time in my two years of living here that someone has brought something to the porch and did not make a noise. I didn't even realize they had delivered it.

is there a way to leave driver feedback or is it literally just through the picture review option?
