We met up with an older Chinese couple for dinner at a sit down waiter-service restaurant, and they chewed with their mouths wide open, talked with their mouth full, spit bones/stuff out of their mouth openly onto the plate (instead of trying to hide it/doing it quietly), didn't bother to take their hats off while eating, and even blew their nose during dinner...

Is this bad table manners or is it just cultural?

To clarify they moved to the US a couple of years ago.

I obviously didn't talk shit to their face. And they were work buddies. Probably won't be dining with them again.

They're about 50-60 years old, immigrated to the US about two years ago from China (Hong Kong if I recall correctly).
