It's fine if a video game (or any other non-political) site bans political discussion of any variety. Political discussion these days very very quickly devolves in to mud slinging and harassment if it's not heavily and indiscriminately moderated.

What isn't fine is banning one side of the political discussion. If this ban just said "NO MORE POLITICS" then I wouldn't feel compelled to make this post. The problem with these things is banning or ignoring people that have different political beliefs then you doesn't help solve the problem. It is possible for a conservative and liberal to have a discussion without name calling and personal attacks but most are interested in attacking instead of listening.

Also, its a dumb business decision to ban people because the site owner doesnt agree with what you are saying. Gamefaqs has something like 2000 active users which isnt much, getting rid of even 300 of them would break the site.

You're just not allowed to post your support or defenses of his ridiculous actions. You're also still allowed to post in support of conservative politics, just not Trump.

This rule is about making the forum a nice place for conversation, not about enforcing a specific political spectrum.

1. The moderator who banned / suspended / warned you is known to you (and everyone else) by name
2. The post they banned you for typically remains up unless it's illegal, pornographic, ad-spam, or general hateful gibberish
3. The reason you were moderated is made publicly known directly in the post you were moderated for
4. Your moderation history is public to everyone
5. If you're permanently banned, you don't get to create a new account and come back. You can try but you get caught typically within the first few posts and get banned again
6. You don't get to create alts
