Only 3 tournaments in history have not had a Nintendo product winning.

Cloud in 2003, which is unlikely to be ever repeated
Draven and Undertale, which are due to external communities.

Im omitting L-Block because Tetris was an original NES/GB game, so Nintendo diehards didnt seem as upset over that loss.

I think the answer is a definitive yes for me. Its one thing when Link wins every time while the earlier rounds could still be somewhat interesting, and its another when Nintendo loyalists push every 3rd & 4th tier Round 1 Nintendo character as far as possible.
