Cyndaquil, because my first pokemon game was actually Pokemon Silver. I always liked picking the Fire types.

I will also say, I don't think I've EVER picked the water type starter in any game lol. Never had a squirtle.

Bulbasaur, because he was the man in the anime.

The first Pokemon game I actually owned was Crystal though, and went with Totodile in that one, because he's cool.

Charmander because his sprite looked coolest to me on Pokemon Blue. Charizard is still among my favorite Pokemon today.

Originally Bulbasaur, because I read the instruction manual before playing and it recommended first time players choose him......... but..........
As soon as I selected his Pokeball I heard a SsssssssPOP sound - it turns out my battery in my game boy exploded. I got a fresh one and started over but 8 year old me thought choosing Bulbasaur made the battery explode so I chose Charmander instead.
