it's called thanksgiving because you are giving thanks. calling it "friendsgiving" is completely changing the meaning into something that doesn't even make sense. you're giving...friends? nope. call it for what it is..."thanksgiving with friends".

They gave it a different name because they can't separate the idea of the Thanksgiving holiday and family.

That, and they were trying to be clever and cute.

Of course it's stupid to call it that, but whatever. We can't waste our time worrying about the weird habits of others.

"Friendsgiving" is just short for "Thanksgiving with friends". lol @ having a problem with that. do you also get mad when people use contractions like "don't"?
