I know some people are gonna just say to bust out a PS2, but the games are crazy fucking expensive. I'm not even talking about an HD release, just throw that shit on PS2 classics or something. And even if I was a masochist and went for the DS version, no III!

Of course, my faith in PS2 classics is pretty low considering how hilariously bad Psychonauts is on there. Maybe there's a reason it just won't work?

Namco in general is pretty bad about getting games from that time on current devices in general, though. Maybe I'm just spoiled by other Japanese companies upping there game, but Namco seems super behind the times.

Was it? I played it like 5 times on the Xbox, but never heard anything about the PS2 version.

The glitches and texture problems in the PS4 version seem much more in line with bad emulation than a bad port job, though.

Not finishing the Xenosaga series was one of my biggest PS2 regrets. I played Episode 1 and loved it. Played halfway through Episode 2 and just got bored with it, and never picked it back up.

Years later, I started the series up again, playing through Episode 1, but once again, only getting about a quarter through episode 2 before eventually quitting.

I hear 3 is the best, and unfortunately I never got there. I think I still have the game and the system. It's just such a low priority right now, I'll probably never get to it.

Half Life 3 is going to come out before Xenosaga ever gets rereleased, and that game is still expected to be announced once the sun becomes a red giant.

There have been many chances for rerelease, and Xenosaga fucked all of them up. Do you have any idea how many HD trilogies of PS2 games there are for PS3? Xenosaga did poorly even when it was still relevant, that's why Namco kicked Monolith Soft out. Face it; Xenosaga is destined to be obscure and inaccessible to modern gamers forever.

I played some of the first Xenosaga. The story was really cool but my lord was the gameplay bad.

Judging from how few games are on PS1 classic compared to NES classic, I doubt there's be more than 10 games on a hypothetical PS2 classic. And if it does happen, I guarentee that Xenosaga will never be considered. When games like Final Fantasy X/X2/XI/XII, God of War, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid 2/3, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdom Hearts, Katamari Demacy, and Okami exist, no one's going to see Xenosaga and think "yeah, that makes sense to put on here".

This pretty much. Except I don't think the first game is that decent in hindsight since it was a game about plot over gameplay and the plot retroactively isn't any good.

Xenosaga III was excellent and better than the other two. It had to complete a story in one game that was planned to be wrapped up in 4. It did quite well given that handicap.

last we heard of the Xenosaga HD Collection was in April when Namco trademarked the name Also Sprach Zarathustra

I think everyone figured it would be announced at E3 but it didn't happen

GameFAQs didn't cheat, people simply vote for who they want winning. There is cheating at times, but not often pulled off, because the webmaster finds out vote stuffers. But that's not important, what matters is that the target of your unfounded hatred is having her best contest. And think Board 8 will love KOS-MOS more and more with your behavior.
