My parents never talked to me about politics, but I overheard enough conversations to know they favored the right/Republicans.

My mom has gotten more left over the years tho (she loathes Trump and loved Hillary). Dad has become more centrist (or maybe he always was, he was never really that far right, just very fiscally conservative).

Not American. My parents were supporters of the UK Labour party, but they were both more left wing than the party at the time.

Finding all these people saying their parents never spoke to them about politics quite strange. I think it's an important thing to discuss with your children.

My dad has always been hard right. It's sad how aimlessly he defends everything about the party. My mom used to be like that as well but she's since lightened up, although she's still a Republican. I was a Republican for a very long time and so were nearly all of my friends. I switched over to the Dems despite all the pressure.

Republican.

I went Democrat for a little bit in high school, but after I got a job I went back to being a Republican.

The Complainer party.

I cant remember their opinion of Clinton but were Anti-Bush, liked Obama then hated him, liked trump (up until he actually won the election) then hated him.

I just think they like the idea of change agents until they're actually there.

My mom never mentioned politics, I don't think she ever cared about them.

My mom's a hardcore leftist, so she always votes Democratic.
My dad doesn't really engage in politics (he was a Jehovah's Witness for a while), but he seems like a moderate conservative. He's registered as a Republican, but nowadays he might be Independent.
I have no idea about my stepmom, wouldn't be surprised if she never voted in her life.

Not American.

The closest my father ever got to expressing a political opinion in my presence was putting on a Pink Floyd LP and nodding along to it while drinking his beer. From what i've heard from others, he's fairly left-wing, but wasn't very forthcoming about it.

If my mother went any further left, she'd fall off. But she isn't very vocal about it either.

Neither of them were big on pushing their beliefs on others, although Dad's tolerance for religious preachiness was wafer-thin.
