Carter has already been president and he was president in the midst of the worst economy in a long time in the 1970s and that's what got him defeated by Reagan. Carter inherited a crap economy from Nixon/Ford and he could never right the ship. He also had to deal with Lewis F Powell telling corporations how to seize control of the country's political and judicial institutions among other things and that's what they have done for the past 45 years.
They bribed and bought both parties with campaign money! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I remember reading that Jimmy Carter mostly failed as a president because he is a horrible leader. Like he couldn't even coordinate exterminators to get rid of a rat problem in the White House, so how could he be expected to be a decent president?

Dikitain posted...Like he couldn't even coordinate exterminators to get rid of a rat problem in the White House https://tinyurl.com/yack9vmj Our favorite chapter in the rodent wars comes from the Carter administration when the president threw his full weight behind the battle. A small mouse scampering through Carter's office started it in 1977. Carter called for traps and tried to get on with the affairs of state. But the mice kept intruding. One died and stunk up the Oval Office just before the president of Italy was ushered in. Another was rotting in some unknown spot when Latin American heads of state arrived for the signing of the Panama Canal Treaty. --- I am a senior software engineer.
