Another rumor is that Brock's Mania opponent isn't supposed to be Strowman, so that likely means that Strowman fails again if he gets another shot, since that would be before Mania (or he just doesn't get another shot, since it doesn't sound like we'll be seeing Brock before then after SS). Are you sure? He's already not booked for TLC, and it's not like he hasn't been gone for long periods of time before. I believe his UFC fight is supposed to be in the first month or two of 2019, so wouldn't it be logical for him to spend time away training for that, instead of doing random appearances for WWE and inturrupting his training? I know we need to be very skeptical of stuff on the dirtsheets, but this one actually makes sense to me. If we see him, it probably won't be for a match, it'll be for him coming out, jumping around a little bit, and looking at the camera while Heyman talks.

Looks like the latest report has it estimated at UFC 235 on March 2nd. Obviously not set yet, and I was a few days off in my guess. This isn't an official announcement, but it's all we have right now. If you're just going to plug your ears and keep saying "no we need an official announcement" don't bother reading on, since you've already made up your mind and it'll be a waste of your time.

Keep in mind that it's Cormier saying that, so it's not like it's some random guy. If they have their fight on March 2nd, do you expect Brock will be wrestling at WWE events (and risk injury), or taking time off from training to go and do WWE stuff between Survivor Series and the fight? He definitely wouldn't risk injury with an actual match or anything really physical. Look at what happened to Becky. Yeah, the men don't have anyone as unsafe as Nia, but it's still a risk he wouldn't want to take.

The Royal Rumble is January 27th, we know that. We can also take an educated guess that Elimination Chamber will fall near the end of February. Do you think Brock will show up there when his fight would be within the next week or so? Probably not. That means he doesn't show up again until Mania season once he's rested from his UFC fight, assuming he's not injured. At most he'll walk out to the ring with Heyman and jump around, maybe attack someone or take some light bumps, but he's not going to have a match. Brock doesn't really wrestle on Raw, so the next event after his UFC fight is Wrestlemania, which is rumored to be the end of his current contract.

There's defintely the possibility that I'm missing something in here, so if anybody sees something that doesn't look right please correct me. Based on what I've been able to find though, I think my logic is pretty good (as it always looks until someone mentions something I've overlooked!) There are also a lot of assumptions since we don't know the exact date of his UFC fight or anything like that, so again, this is just based on the best information available at the moment, and is subject to change as more details become finalized.

How so? I don't follow UFC stuff, but isn't he fighting Cormier? If so, I would think Cormier would have a decent idea of when it might take place. Can you provide more details as to why my train of thought is wrong and why no combinations of date and opponent makes sense? I really don't know how they do their stuff, so there are a ton of gaps in my knowledge here.

Okay, thanks! I already stated that I was wrong there, since that was in March. I thought I had read something from Dana White months ago that said he wanted it in January and hadn't looked at anything since then. That's my mistake.

and for further detail - the other speculation was that lesnar fights jones instead. this is definitely the fight lesnar would prefer, as it will be worth a lot more. of course, jones fights at the end of december, so a fight with him would be even further out. but if lesnar does want to hold out for that fight in say, april or may instead, he'd be even less likely to risk that fight by taking the cormier one. i don't think lesnar even decides who he's fighting until december 31st.

and cormier is out here trying to hype the fight and bring it closer because that would allow him to get in on this lesnar money mania going on right now - if he makes the people want that fight, he makes the ufc more likely to try to preserve that than book lesnar-jones. and god, you know they want to do that to him.

See, this shows just how little I know about UFC. I thought the Jones fight was out due to some drug or suspension thing. Learning more every post! :)

jones made his stunning, spectacular return from his projected 3-4 year suspension within 18 months and is cleared again. that's what made the whole lesnar fighting situation muddy - and, i might be wrong, but i'd hazard that in a world where jones doesn't get cleared, cormier and lewis never happens and cormier and lesnar is already being promoted for january - and lesnar probably doesn't have the wwe belt now
