Seed and Seed Destiny was my jam growing up but they're doing that one from scratch, so what's another option? StupidGenius 11/13/18 8:08:58 PM #30:	Get the original series in three-movie format if you want to experience where it all began. It plays quite similarly to SEED, as that was a sort of reboot for First Gundam. G Gundam is the Saturday morning cartoon Gundam series; villains of the week, over the top ridiculousness and no real regard for the 'real robot' feeling of any of the previous series. Wing is a decent series, but gets bogged down by the politics and philosophies that are heavily explored through its run. Gundam X is pretty solid, and would be my recommendation if I had to give only one. Really likeable characters, awesome mech, fun antagonists, and a surprisingly non-garbage romance subplot. It was never localised, so subtitles are your only option with that one. The 8th MS Team is the 'realistic and gritty' take on Gundam; regular ass soldiers in regular ass mechs doing regular ass military things. It's one of my favourites, contains one of the greatest fights of the entire franchise, and is only held back by an awkwardly executed romance subplot and a rather unsatisfying OVA that fails to conclude the story particularly well. Zeta is probably the best best for 'everything that's great about Gundam in one package' but some of the characters are very grating, and there's way too many mechs introduced so often that it's off putting, at least to me. I think Zeta would routinely get the most first-place votes in a 'best series' poll, so it's another good bet. Unicorn was gorgeous, had some outstanding mech designs and action sequences, but I've only seen it the one time and don't recall much of the finer points. It probably wouldn't be the best place to start with UC Gundam. Turn A often receives exceptionally high praise, but in both times I tried to get into it I found things paced so slowly I couldn't maintain interest long enough to get to the good bits.
