This simply because Ive had people react to me like Im a god when I told them I bought all my PC parts individually and put them together myself.

The GameFAQs hardware help board and pcpartpicker literally picked all my parts out for me, and I watched a YouTube video to put it together.

i'm not tech savvy.
only thing i know is to insert ram. i had to do this when i accidently kicked my tower and it wouldn't turn on. found it was loose and had to insert it back in.

i could probably learn more since computer parts are just like lego's you insert the parts into a port in the computer tower and connect the wires so it gains power from the power supply.

Ive had similar experiences though theyre mostly software based

What little hardware i have done does trigger a similar response (Even though so far thats just GPU and Ram Upgrades). Why so little? Partially because i got big ass hands and my case isnt as big

I do get VERY fucking nervous each time i do something hardware based, its still relatively new

Grandma clicks something stupid or installs a toolbar. You fix that quickly. She spends the rest of her years thinking you're a master hacker.

I voted "expert" since I can do basically anything other than programming, which I've dabbled in but have never really taken seriously. Scripting and the like isn't a problem. Web design, jailbreaking, etc. I'm pretty good with component level stuff for hardware. I can fix TVs, power supplies, do reflows, use a bread board, multimeters and such, audio hardware. Computer stuff is relatively easy.

I don't think keeping up with all the latest tech really means anything. There's a lot of stuff that's become common (Facebook, Alexa, etc) that I haven't bothered using because I just don't have a need for it, but it would only take me like 20 minutes to learn to use them so it has real no bearing on my abilities as a tech nerd.

Pretty good, but mostly on the software side, including programming.

I don't have much experience on the hardware side, mostly due to disability preventing me from physically doing much of it. I know some of the theory at least.

Yeah basically lol.

Though I'm almost certain there'll be technology that my grandchildren will have down that I won't understand at all and will need their help with.

Falling out of touch with the modern world is mostly inevitable and I've already done it with music.
