They all play off of each other, but without Hank, the show is garbage.

Cotton is the worst and I usually skip his episodes.

In honesty the three body builder guys.

Before the end of the episode where they just became complete idiots they were really helping Bill to boost his confidence instead of expecting a super depressed person to just exercise on his own. For that short time they were good friends to Bill building him back up into someone he was proud to be instead of ignoring him and letting him just continue to fail, and be miserable.

Granted Bill became a bit of a jerk, but they were treating him, and his new friends like freaks. It was just nice to see Bill improve a bit instead of just being the sad sack. Sadly the show had no real interest in helping Bill, and just went back to sad sack Bill afterwards.

Yeah, I'm hoping if the revival rumors are true that they're allowed to have some character progression. IIRC Fox was really big on them keeping everything the same episode to episode (although I guess towards the end they let Luanne get married and have a kid, but Bobby stayed the same age, Bill would randomly improve himself for an episode then revert next week, etc).
