Comparing the games from the time, I think Vigilante 8: 2nd offense is probably better than any of the first four TM games. Twisted Metal Black is the best out of both series though.

I could never get into Vigilante 8 for some reason. Twisted Metal has had it's share of stinkers but I've always enjoyed the series overall. Rogue Trip was pretty fun too on the PS1.

The thing is that Twisted Metal's interactivity was a bit limited. Making a fat statue of liberty is funny but didn't really impact the gameplay.
