They have No Mercy Mercenaries mode which I had never got to play cause I don't own a PC. Worth it for me. Some reason you can't co-op No Mercy Mercs on 5 which is dumb but you can on 6.

Its a solid action title. Each scenario is unique in that you get three different games in the main storyline: Leon gets survival horror, Chris is a generic TPS, and Jakes is just...different. Personally, I felt Leons scenario was the best of the three, but I also enjoyed RE4 more than 5.

The main flaw with it is that the game doesn't teach you the advanced mechanics or emphasize that you need to use melee attacks to save ammo.

Honestly, the game is pretty good if you correct a few minor flaws that drag the experience down when compounded:

- Turn on quick time assist to get rid of the unfair story quick time events that give you barely anytime to do them (compared to the ones from RE4 and 5 anyway)

- Turn on the auto reload option so that you only have to press the fire button to reload the crossbow when it's empty, rather than ruining your momentum by having to press the designated reload button

- Play in The Mercenaries a bit to get used to the controls before playing story

- For whatever version you're playing, look up the button combo to quickly mix herbs without needing to open the menu

- When an enemy is charging towards you while you're aiming at them, don't manually try to lower your weapon and then move out of the way. Rather, dive out of the way while aiming, as the split second that action saves you is critical.

- Try not to use melee attacks against a group of zombies. They have a habit of grabbing you and forcing you into a QTE to break free, like unarmed Ganado/Majini in 4 and 5. Melee is fine against individual zombies or small groups of this game's Ganado clones though.

Also, if you have a decent PC, get that version as it has The Mercenaries No Mercy mode where you fight a fuck ton of enemies at once and can play as the characters from Left 4 Dead 2 and fight the Witch and Tank.

there are 4 campaigns actually

I know, but Adas is similar to Jakes but with platforming...as close as you get with the hook shot.

In addition to this, use your quick shot whenever possible. Almost always leads to a guaranteed melee followup that can possibly do splash damage.

To this day I'll never understand the love for RE5

It basically improved very little from RE4 in terms of controls while having a wacky storyline that is impossible to take seriously and borderline racist enemy caricatures
