We were told we would get a light winter mix with little accumulation on Wednesday night.

We got about 6 inches of snow, mixed with frozen rain, between 10a-3p. No one was prepared due to shitty forecasting.

Same. I didn't bother setting my alarm for earlier because I'd figured it wouldn't be that bad. Ended up being an hour late to work. Roads were good, but I had to shovel my driveway.

Our roads were filled with cars unable to traverse the ice and snow (since no plowing or salting was done) for hours until it turned to rain and started melting it all.

That stinks. Massachusetts is usually well-prepared for snow removal and this storm was no exception. Hope the commute home goes smoother for ya'll.

well that sucks. they should be able to open it easy enough though. (metal slidy thing under the window).

I have done that at least twice. once I had to wait for a tow truck to come and open the door, the other time I had to walk a couple kms to retrieve my other key.

for this reason I always try to make sure to have a second key somewhere in the house. (though it sounds like you're locked outside, too? that's pretty lousy.)

Yeah I'm locked out of everything... Just chilling in my apartment entrance to get out of the cold. Can't get in to the building or my apartment

I'm going to get a set of spares after this

But it literally should not be possible to lock my car running, I don't get it
