Okay, so you heard a third hand account. I have kept quiet about this for a long time but since everyone feels th eneed to butt into a personal friendship I'll just say this:

Gravy and I spoke about daily for 8 or so months over a variety of real life discussions and board 8 projects.

During this time someone I cared about deeply was murdered and put me in a path towards spiraling and unfortunately my real life support group couldn't help as they were grieving as well.

There came a night where, after months of stress that honestly he caused along with my bad mental health, I snapped at my good friend and it was NOT about a board project, but a long list of things and the board project stressed the relationship. I don't even remember exactly what I said, only that I went mental.

After I did that I left the board for a long time and sought anger management and treatment for my grief that I hadn't allowed myself to before hand. It was the low point of a year that was just ruinous for me. So I got help.

Whatever it was, things like mafia and mercs just stressed me, and were never the root cause.

Its more just that Lightning keeps falling just short and then her less popular sister character does it with ease. Im not saying you guys wouldnt be happy either way.

We had this once before. If I remember correctly, the finals were Tifa vs Quistis. Dont remember who won.

Yeah it's tricky to rank, I mean it's on an overall basis? It's tough to rank characters, I mean is it how much I like them as characters, playing with them in-game, on an overall basis, or supporting them in this contest? It is tricky because there are people in the contest I wouldn't much care for outside of it.

Excluding the FF7-verse I'd probably say the following, no particular order

Kefka
Squall
Laguna
Quistis
Quina
Vivi
Auron
Balthier
Doctor Cid
Caius
BOCOCHOCOLINA
The main cast of 13 except Hope and Fang

And from 15, the chocobros, Cindy, Ardyn, Aranea... I really liked that game more than I should have.

If I boiled it down to an all-in top 10 then at least half the spots get taken by a VII character, yeah. But Doctor Cid is in the top 10 for sure. He's got the Cissnei-like, maximum impact for minimum screen time.

For the record MWC just kind of murdered stuff I liked and he is making it up to me, if you guys want me to unleash him and let him talk as much as he wants in these and in other topics (because I have begged him to post less in those) say the word. Honestly I have just been trying to be nice.

My personal top 10 and my contest top 10 differ a bit.

I also have the PSX and SNES FFs lower ranked overall on my personal list because back then squares best stuff wasnt final fantasy, it was their other stuff while PS2 and later it flipped until right around FFXV where they started putting out BD and I am Setsuna and Octopath which are all better than that
