I swear the employees are in hiding half the time. It took me 40 minutes to buy an SD card for the Switch yesterday. Went to gamestop, they didn't have any, suggested i go across the street to Walmart since they were on sale, went to Walmart, went to Electronics, nobody was there.

Now it's not like it was 8am or something, it was 5pm on a Saturday. There was one mobile employee selling a phone or whatever they do, honestly it looked like they were doing nothing, and then not another employee in sight for 20 minutes. As I waited and waited, the line started piling up and eventually someone came. He was an older man and mobility was definitely not his specialty. Even though I was first, he rang up several people before me just because they walked to the counter while he was walking back from opening electronics cases and basically yelled for his attention.

BLah blah blah I finally get an SD card, it took all of a minute to walk 15 feet, open the case, and pay for it.

Fuck man, I guess I learned my lesson, go to Target next time

I'm not gonna lie. Half the time I was in the break room taking an extended break. Just watching tv on my laptop. How I got away with it all those years I'll never know.

It's not even the first time with that Walmart. It took an hour to buy an Xbox One controller when I was the only person in the electronics department. I had to track down another employee, so they could tell me the guy was on his way, and other employees walked by and also told me the same thing.

I don't see why so many people still shop at Wal-Mart considering how terrible their service is.

I've been yelled at by a Wal-Mart janitor for walking through a roped off area when there was literally no alternative way around to get to the checkout lanes. Almost as if he was intentionally playing a sick twisted game that allowed him to take his anger out on every customer that walked through. And it wasn't just a friendly "hey can you please not walk through there" it was a full-fledged angry-as-fuck vein in the forehead "get out of there! Can't you read!? It's roped off for a reason! Now I have to mop again!"...Like what the fuck? How can a company get away with having employees talk to their customer like that? Totally unacceptable.

Then there's the multiple times I've gone in there to buy like one thing only to wait in line for 30 minutes because they only ever have 2 lanes open.

And their prices really aren't even better than anywhere else...minimally better at best if at all.

And their stores and parking lots are always a fucking zoo. Nowhere to park. Carts everywhere. Always a few cops hanging out. You try to park and you just sit there in your car waiting for an endless stream of people to walk to and from the store until you decide you just have to act like you're gonna go so that people will just stop. Then there's a bunch of people blocking the isles because there's too many shoppers and too many of those giant rascal things they let people ride around in.

The average Wal-Mart shopper has no courtesy for other shoppers either for some reason. You go to other stores and shoppers are like "oh excuse me let me get my cart out of your way"...you go to Wal-Mart and it's like "Fuck you, I'm stopping my cart right in the middle of the god damn isle and if you don't like it then fuck you bitch this is my area and I'm going to spend 5 to 10 minutes looking at different kinds of pop tarts until I find the perfect flavor so I can stuff my face full of them when I get home"

The only thing Wal-Mart has that's of any value is their locations. They tend to be somewhat convenient. That's it. And that's why I stopped shopping their a few years ago. I won't go there for anything. Last year I went to the movie theater to buy gift cards for Christmas presents, and the guy at the movie theater says "Sorry, we decided to stop selling those here. You have to buy them at Wal-Mart now" and I just looked at him and laughed and said "If I have to go to Wal-Mart to buy them then I guess I'm not going to spend $500 on theater gift cards every year anymore like I have for the past 4 years. Bad idea to make people go to that shithole of a store."

Seriously how is Wal-Mart even still in business?

You probably overpaid for your SD card, too, TC. I think I saw a 128gb MicroSD in their Black Friday ad that was more expensive than the one I bought on Amazon a couple of weeks ago

You could probably return it though, but lol good luck getting someone to show up to the returns desk there

Just gently push the cart aside and say "excuse me" in a nice tone. I do that, and people tend to get embarrassed when their cart is in my way. Nothing wrong with being a bit assertive when you need to be.

Why'd you have to wait for an SD card? They're rarely behind glass cases and are usually on the shelves..

Why the fuck would they stop selling them at the theatre, it's almost like they don't want to sell gift cards anymore.

What kind of Wal-Mart locks up the SD cards? They have never been locked at the ones I have been to.

Eh Im just being hyperbolic. My general observation is that the people who shop at Wal Mart are less friendly than other stores.

I was a Wally employee once, and it's no lie they deliberately understaff as hardcore as possible. There are exactly enough employees to get the work done and customer service is not part of the equation. They say they include a little leeway in the task times for helping customers but that's a lie. Electronics is one of the departments that usually catches it the worst, the dude that came to help you was probably in charge of watching electronics and sporting goods at the same time and told he had to stock in sporting goods between customers.

Shit was wack. Stress levels were always at 10k. Most people were just tired all the time. It's not that they had anything against the customers (though some of them actually really really did) but you come in long enough, pull your hair out every single day, eventually you just can't force yourself to give a fuck anymore. Eventually you really, truly do run out of fucks to give.

i had one of those incidents today, a few woman decided to block a central lane in the deli apartment while the bread stocker was doing his thing (that lane was closed too). i had to wait till they got done with the convo then i could move onto getting some cheddar jalapeno bagels (it was free) because of a coupon (2$ off bakery purchase). cool whip was 50 cents each and i needed 2 for the thanksgiving coming up i might have store bought lasanga since chicken meat is out of range.

Wal-Mart employees usually are pretty bad. I worked at a retail chain before (not Wal-Mart) and we were told to always engage the customers when we were on the floor and be helpful. Wal-Mart employees, shit... I get attitude just asking them anything. Just all around terrible customer service. Great prices though.
