Probably just needs a new battery. The orange charging light goes on if I plug it in, does that make it more or less likely to be a battery issue? ... Copied to Clipboard!

SpiralDrift posted...Probably just needs a new battery. The DS has a weird way of handling power supplies and batteries. If you took the battery out of a working system and plugged it in, it still would not turn on. Basically, it uses the battery even if it's plugged in. So if the battery is dead it may still show the charging light but not power on because there's no juice. Long story short, you probably just need a new battery. --- Do unto others what your parents did to you. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Does it just turn on for a split second and then turn back off? Because I have a Lite that did that. I just took it apart, cleaned all the ribbon cable contacts with alcohol, and plugged them back in. Works fine now

I bought my DS Lite in 2007 and I'm pretty sure if I booted it up that thing still works. Amazing.
