Board 8 > I beat Final Fantasy XI

The original main Nations story through rank 5, that is. Right now Im trying to decide whether I want to continue through ranks 6-10 of my starting nation, start doing the first expansions stuff (Zilart), or change nations and level a different class through their missions.

Its a fun game. Admittedly Im playing it with a ton of conveniences that werent there originally - teleports for getting pretty much everywhere, summoned NPCs to fill out my party, and exp gain thats lightyears ahead of what it used to be, but I had a good time. Playtime after beating Shadow Lord was a couple hours shy of three days, in which I got my Warrior class to level 65 with a sub Monk up to 22. Did very little in the way of sidequests, opting instead to focus almost exclusively on my Nation missions and my warriors Artifact Armor.

Zilart and CoP are worth seeing through the end.

Yeah Im planning on doing at least those two. Would like to get through all the major expansions but I dont know how Trust-friendly all the later missions end up being.

I feel like adding, this means the only main-number FFs I havent beaten are II, V, VI, and VIII.

I attempted FFXI several years ago, getting decently far in main story, but ultimately stopping because of school.

You should! Its a LOT easier to solo now; Im leveling my Monk subjob and havent had any problems except once accidentally attacking a NM that looked just like the normal enemies. If you played after the migration to Square-Enix accounts or do that migration they seem to do free playtime a couple times a year too, so you could get in and try to get back into the swing of things before paying the sub again.
