Inside Edition on the Mario craze, from Thanksgiving 1988. When the NES was current. They were just saying "Nintendo" in the late 80s. It might have changed once the Super Nintendo came out though.

Desert Commander, never knew about that NES game. Thought it was something else (Like imports of wars or fire emblem lol You can't see the system!) which is why I had asked. It didn't look right though.

Everyone I knew called them nez and snez, haha although I think I only ever knew one kid with a NES and SNES back then. Megadrive was king around here (from the UK). Did people in the US really say en ee ess ? That sounds like a lot of effort haha
